Who all saw this coming ?? I think a lot of people

Of course the games still won the night, but they are significantly down for Sunday. And this is Cowgirls playing an L.A. team in new stadium.

Yea the whole covid thing naturally has the ratings down. Stuff still just feels weird but I’m happy NFL and football as whole is back. Nice sense of normalcy for a few hours.

"...lacks the west coast numbers..."

Yeah that's super reliable when comparing. You're missing a HUGE chunk of people in the data.

Seriously

The only purpose for the average person would be if they liked a particular sitcom and wanted to see if it stays around.

Its not like football is in danger of being cancelled. Because they can literally lose half of the audience and still outperform every other thing on TV by a wide margin

Yea but why do fans? Besides using it as some sort of pissing contest.

You know who gives a shite about football? The owners

Goodell gives a shite about ratings when he allowed his refs for Rams to get the Super Bowl over the Saints

The Networks give a shite about ratings when they are negotiating a new contract with NFL. Which affects the salary cap.

Players should give a shite. It will affect their brand with extra curricular promotions

Ok...but the guy who asked the question was asking about the fans.

Ratings are obviously important to the people in charge.

Even with the usual ratings gold of Jerry Jones’ team on the field, the NFL and NBC didn’t get that win

Maybe people are sick of seeing he trash Cowboys EVERY MOTHERfrickING WEEK ON NATIONAL TELEVISION.

The Owners and the players will give a shite when negotiating new TV contracts if the numbers stay low. I don't like what is going on but I watched and will continue to watch but to say ratings don't matter is a little nieve.

And to top it off Candace Owens blames the Saints for police officers getting shot

Why else does this happen? Because when pea-brained athletes put the name of an alleged RAPIST on their helmets and jerseys, criminals begin believing they are acting as heroes. BLACK LIVES MATTER AND THE COMPLICIT MEDIA ORGANIZATIONS, ATHLETES, AND ENTERTAINERS ARE TO BLAME.

This ratings thing is going to get worse before it gets better.

Everybody. This was predicted a while ago. Since Covid persisted into the NFL season, they’ve been prepared for lower ratings and less revenue this year.

Due to the “unprecedented times”, I doubt they expect much from this season.

I think the pandemic may change attending habits for good at both pro and college level
On top of that, the social unrest is not helping either

Guess we are just ignoring the fact that the NFL is currently fighting with NHL playoffs, NBA playoffs, and MLB games on the same day.

Follow the money dummy. Always follow the money. Happy to see it that far down, hope it gets worse and cap goes way down.
