You really think so? I'm gonna have to go ahead and respectfully disagree on that one.

I haven't heard much good feedback about Galatoire's in BR, particularly for people familiar with it in NOLA. Mansur's is nice.

Half of what makes Galatoires what it is in N.O. is the atmosphere in that place, especially the Friday afternoon crowd.
I am thinking that doesn't really transfer all that well to the BR location.

I prefer Galatoire's however I enjoy Mansurs. If you have never been to Galatoire's why not try it now? You know you like Mansur's so expand your horizon's.
It may not have the Friday lunch feel as New Orleans on Friday but neither does any other restaurant in New Orleans. They don't try to replicate that. It stands on it's own and stands well. Nice lunch and dinner, nice wine list, good cocktails, excellant service. Very good.

Galatoire's in BR put their location over down in Perkins near I-10 thinking that it would attract a lot of the ccla crowd...I think what they've found out is that a lot of that ccla crowd still is just in fact just one generation removed from poor white trash. The person who said that it was the NOLA atmosphere that made that galatoire's so special is right.
In BR, Id go with Mansur's or Juban's

So you know a bunch of poor white trash that lives in CCL? I think this is not a very educated statement.

Most of the people that live in CCLA have had money for generations. That is a dumb statement.

Most people that have had 'money for generations' dont' have to constantly remind you in a conversation that they do in fact, live in ccla, like so many of the ones I've dealt with in a professional manner do.
But it isnt' like I expected you to agree with me anyways, you'll say 'jump' in this board just because I say 'walk'...

You still don't know what you are talking about. I know probably 30 family's that live in CCL and most are old Baton Rouge money. A lot of the rest are educated professionals that have moved into BR from other areas in the country for work including New Orleans.
Off the top of my head:
12 doctors
7 lawyers
4 engineers
10 private business owners
4 bankers
1 stockbroker
2 very wealthy men who inherited ton's of old family money and play golf everyday.
Not exactly the "white trash once removed" crowd.
Not to mention Galatoire's stays full for most lunches and dinner.

I'm not saying that business at Galatoire's is hurting..I'm just saying that if you to Galatoire's in BR expecting the same 'class' of clientele that visits the location in New Orleans, you'll be let down.
