Indeed.
I started season 1 a couple nights ago because I ran out of stuff to watch (I watch all the typical “good” shows earlier in the night with my wife). Had watched a trailer or two previously and had little interest. I like science-based shows but I’m not much of a sci-fi fan (e.g., I love Michael Crichton type stuff but not StarTrekkie type stuff). I got hooked on this one within the first couple episodes (or whenever Mother went Necromancer). Amanda Collin is phenomenal as Mother. No matter what mood Mother is in, I can’t stop rooting for her.
The show really didn’t really get “weird” for me midway through the season, unlike how most people seem to feel about it. Yeah, obviously the birth was a shocker. I expected the serpent to make an appearance at some point, but not like that. But otherwise, the story seemed to progress in a pretty consistent manner for me. Looking forward to starting season 2 tomorrow, but I’m enjoying it much more than I expected to so far.

I’ve described it as “weird” before, mostly because I don’t have any other word to describe it. It’s not weird in the sense that the events are hard to follow, but it is weird in the sense that you don’t know why any of this stuff is happening.
The show is clearly more mystery box than traditional sci-fi, which I enjoy. I think it’s just a bit shocking when the mystery aspect escalates extremely quickly about halfway through season 1.

Show kind of lost me after mother got preggers with the flying snake worm, and Caleb turned zealot. Was just too out there for me. Also, Campion sucks, and I cringe every time they say his name.
I watched the first two episodes of the new season and was kind of bored, but I am sure I will watch the whole thing eventually.

At first I wasn’t liking the direction season 2 was going, but episode 4 sucked me back in. For me, it’s all about one thing: “I am Mother, and I must protect the children.” As long as Mother is still around and doing Mother type shite, I’m all in. I don’t really care about what else is going on - just give me more Mother.
I was really disappointed to realize last night that there’s only 1 more episode left, and I have to wait for it. This S2 Ep7 recap really brought a lot of things together for me.

I honestly think this is the first time I’ve seen anyone refer to Amanda Collin as “bad” in Raised by Wolves.

I think it’s more that I hate her character.. which I suppose would make her a good actress. I don’t know what it is about the mother character I find so annoying.
On a separate note, I think it’s pretty cool that mithraicism was a real religion. Had no idea until I looked it up and read more about it. He also apparently drew heavily from the book of Enoch in the Bible
