Sounds like there is more to this story than what has been reported
I thought the same thing. Reading his letter it was generic as hell. It was like he had to say something to make sure the NFL don’t think he’s a head case. Whether he is or not will definitely be probed when goes through the combine

Agent shows up with advance payment and paperwork. Terms/Conditions explained and paperwork signed. Chase opts out. End of story.
If that is what happened, the agent is guilty of a felony.

It would be Chase and his dad's responsibility to reach out to Coach O. imo

High and dry? Nah. WR is stacked.
Marshall (if he can stay healthy) and McMath. Who else that has proved themselves?

I clicked your link but I just found the penalties for violating the statute, not the specifics of what is allowed/disallowed. I can see barring agents from making the intial contact or giving under the table payments but what are the rules for the athlete contacting the agent for career and financial advice? These are 19-20 year olds facing decisions involving sums of money that could set up their families for generations to come. It seems very wrong to deny them access to expert advice even if that does open Pandora's box.
