Sounds like there is more to this story than what has been reported.

Yeh.....I dont know why we all need to be "team chase" here and kiss his arse

I wish him no ill will and he made his decision. But why in the hell should lsu fans be "happy for" a player that leaves the team high and dry 4 weeks before kickoff? And it sure looks like he did it without giving coach O respect

What is there to talk about, their son is not part of the team and there are actual LSU players that need his attention. They made their decision and at this point I could care less. I hope Chase has a great career, he was a fun tiger to watch, he will always be a Tiger, but time to move on.

Something strange going on over there...probably a combination of covid worries, race issues, and Ryan Clark fanning the flames.

O is moving on. Probably talked to Chase and wished him good luck, but he isn't going to sit there and stroke Dad'd feelings. He's got games to win with the guys that are still there. That's how business works when someone moves on.

3 sides to every story....yours, mine, and the truth.

Chase, thank you. Now by your own decision, move on.

My guess is the coaching staff was completely caught off guard.

Chase told someone and they let it slip or the staff and then CBS reported on it without chase having the chance to break the news.

Exactly, when an employee puts in notice and leaves, you wish them the best but you move on.

Maybe a lil bit of Coach O not addressing race issue quick enough, and Snake Clark, which im pretty sure he and Chase's dad are friends being both from westbank, def. something fishy going on, oh well, he's gone now, best of luck to Chase, moving on from it, the longer we keep bringing it up, the longer this will take to die down and get back to normal,

Yeah at this point I'm not sure why they're still entertaining interviews with Jimmy Chase. Ja'Marr was a great Tiger and has chosen to move on, the team and media should do so as well.

I hope he has success in the nfl but I also hope he drops out of the first round. I’m concerned that if he is a top 5-10 pick more sophomores will opt out in the future.

Not to worried about this, look at Justin Jefferson, the worked himself into an elite WR. Chase is just a different guy, very few people have NFL ready bodies as true sophmores. Dropping out of the LSU program can actually hurt them. In Chases case, I do not think he could improve his stock anymore and there is much more risk for him to have a Delpit type season if he gets an minor injury like Grant did.

Confirms at least part of his decision was to spite O. He/they didn’t like how he wasn’t slurping the BLM koolaid

This. Entitlement culture is destroying athletics.

This is so dumb if true. They have had a relationship with O for years. Chase decommitted from another school to play for O and he did everything that was promised, Jimmy Chase’s words, and they are going to let something that happened two seconds ago completely change their feelings towards him?

ETA: I have zero issue with Chase deciding not to play and wish him luck. I don’t agree with him if it’s for the above reason but that doesn’t change my mind about him.

I’m sick of hearing about Chase’s dad. Your son doesn’t play here anymore. Kindly go away.
