I have heard alot of people talking about how weak our non-confrence schedule is but didnt LSU try to schedule someone respectable but no one would accept. Just curious which teams we tried to schedule

If you believe Herb while he is trying to save face, then yea sure, LSU tried to schedule everybody but they were all scared. They weren't scared of Florida, Georgia, or Auburn, just LSU. In all probability, Herb was probably trying to get somebody like Texas Tech to come to Baton Rouge, and then play a game next season against them in Houston or something. If that was the case, they should of done probably exactly what they did, laugh at him.

I heard they asked the Saints, but they were afraid to play us in the Superdome next year.

It is about money more than anything. We don't want to schedule a home and home with a team if they can't draw what we draw and have a gate like we have. So playing a team like Texas Tech in Lubbock would be a financial beating for LSU.

LSU wants good teams for OCG's but they want everything played at LSU to maximize profits. Most good teams don't want a OCG at LSU with no game at their home.

well other teams do attractive occ schedules. LSU and Herb are sooooo worried about every penny that they stick us with higher prices, that's fine. don't make me sit through, N Texas, Troy, Western carolina, etc. Makes for a lame year occ wise. i want to see attractive games.

No it wouldn't.

And basically the other posters have it right. We wanted a BCS opponent but weren't offering a home and home and got denied.

Based on average price per ticket, LSU ranks among the bottom half of the conference on ticket prices. 7th I think. Just saying.

If all we had to pay was face value, that would be great!!!

Does anyone think the new AD will put more effort into making a better OOC happen or is he not even a factor in those decisions?

This average that I am talking about DOES take into account supplemental fees (in our case TAF). We rank in the bottom half, like I said 7th.

Sure, the fees for buying the ticket, but what about the thousands of dollars you have to donate to just get on the list to buy tickets?

Sorry to get the thread off-topic.
