My parents kept 2 huge ceramic ashtrays in our house (1 in living room & 1 in den), despite the fact that neither of them smoked.

But company would come over and fire right up like it was what you’re supposed to do.

Some of my first memories include going to the store with my mom and doing something with “green stamps”, and helping her make Sun Tea. I think the tea was later shown to be full of bacteria.
