This phrase is typically used in politics and cultural wars. I’d like to know how many times this “fallacy” has been wrong.

Why are they opting out??

Is it because of the unknown long term effects of COVID19??

Is it as a protest to social injustice??

Because if its COVID19, can't you still catch that as an NFL player (rhetorical question)??

If it's to protest social injustice, why don't the millionaire pro athletes opt out for the remainder of there sports year??

Could also be that this isn't going to be a "real" CFB season. PAC opted out, B1G can't make up its mind, no fans, players free to opt out and come back next year, conference only schedule, and the ever present possibility of games being disrupted by Ron outbreaks.

Why risk injury for that?

Well, I'll say it since no one else has; players in the NFL are playing for their second contract. That's the big payday, so they haven't accomplished everything on their bucket list.

Once they get the second contract, then sure, they might mail it in.

Seems like a discussion you should’ve had with your college English teacher and not me Adam

Well they’re just rookies, so they haven’t gotten their real big contract yet

Didn’t do much as far as developing Mike Williams when he skipped a vital yer (although not entirely his fault). He played a few years in the league, but definitely did not live up to hype from his Freshman and Sophomore years.

Not every question was in regards to Chase but since you answered some that way. Let me ask you... you don't think Chase opted out because of COVID19?? I call bullshite and i believe there were some quotes on that.

You think this COVID19 shite will be magically gone and not affect the NFL next year?? WRONG. This virus is a new norm slick.

Did I say Chase was a pro athlete? Nope.

And I disagree, Chase has plenty to play for. The possibility of a Heisman, another Championship, the team that he told he was not opting out and look, if that's what he wants to do, odds are, he knew that last month.

He hasn’t officially opted out so there’s no quotes

He’s opting out to declare for the draft. If he uses the COVID issue as a reason it’s just window dressing

Ok mr doomsday. Seems like a bridge to cross when you get there. After he gets a fully guaranteed contract and all.

This is the problem when you just projectile words without any attempt to make them make sense or have an overall point. I have no idea what exactly you’re talking about

This thread is about Chase, who isn’t an NFL player. You somehow ended up talking about NFL players and BLM and change when literally it has nothing to do with Chase and his situation which again is what this thread is about.

The possibility of a Heisman,

he’s smart enough to know he has no chance as a WR

another Championship,

Been there. Done that.

the team that he told he was not opting out

If they wanna pony up 30 mil then I’m sure he’d be happy to play this year.

What’s left on the bucket list?

Not letting someone blow up this year and move ahead of him. Obviously that could happen either way and odds are he would not have as good of a season this year anyways. But I'd be worried about a year out of the game hurting his stock.

That’s a small and easy risk to take. Most decision will require some level of risk no matter what.

The less risky option is still the one where he doesn’t play a 10 game SEC schedule and then some extra games

Unless the NFL changes its rule requiring players to be out of high school for 3 years, it won't help much.

I don't think you will see many players sit out an entire season. For most it doesn't make sense and would do more harm than good.

Probably has something to do with the money, in addition to competing and winning.

However, that dude on the Chiefs that's also a doctor did opt out this season.
