Our wonderful mayor, who aggressively ignored BR’s panhandling problem for four years, is now concerned:

Also, despite remaining silent while having one of the highest murder rates in the country, same wonderful mayor now releases statement on her concern for the violence.
She is an absolute joke. What an embarrassment to Baton Rouge.

Do you have a link to her response to all of the BR murders that took place before this? Or is she only responding (if you can call that a response) to this because it's a higher profile circumstance?

To be fair, a couple of months ago she did scold the police union for pointing it out. I guess that counts as a “response”.

She wants a transparent criminal investigation ? Will the grand jury proceedings be televised ? WTF.
Let them do their job. Get out of the way and stop politically policing the city (one way or the other ). At this point , I don’t care who is elected, as long as it’s not her.

Please don’t be mistaken. She isn’t concerned about 99% of BR homicides. She clearly doesn’t care one bit. She cares about THIS homicide because of the political leverage she can gain.

Wrong, she’s “very concerned”.
It’s election season. She’s showing she’s very concerned at every opportunity. Expect more and more photo ops.
And I agree, she let’s these issues fester for three plus years and now she’s finally reacting now that the election is nearing.
