I don’t understand why leaders feel like they have to make unnecessary decisions days in advance. Prepare to cancel? Sure. Let parents know it could happen so they can have plans ready. Today is a nice day and tomorrow is likely to be fine, too. We live in Louisiana. People should be able to handle this better to avoid days like today.

Because if they don't and then something actually happens they won't hear the end of it ever.

Bc every media had the storm making a direct hit on Nola. Be mad at media, not schools.

They're covering up a COVID outbreak, obviously. Let them close these four days rather than be closed 14.

Comes a time when logistically you have to make a decision one way or another and can't wait until t-1h to make a decision.

I'm not advocating for doing nothing. I'm saying decisions are pointlessly made too far in advance. The fricking diocese cancelled the whole damn week before we really knew anything. It's a joke.

They should reverse course and at least have classes on Tuesday and Wednesday.

They make decisions well before that time comes.

We really should wait longer to make decisions. Why should we give people the opportunity to make arrangements for their families?

I think you have a point about the rest of the week, but honestly cancelling on Friday for a storm expected to hit on Monday is reasonable.

Chicken little theory. Same reason nobody is in the office today.

I'll give one school credit. Dunham has classes today. Email was sent at 2PM yesterday that classes would be held as normal because the timing made it obvious today would be fine. So it's not like this isn't doable for everyone else.
