for major wreckless violations? If even that?
It's 2020. Take the dudes tag and send him a ticket. There's literally no point to actually making the stop
Think about how much b******* that would eliminate with virtually no real negative consequences.
Also. Eliminate fines. Instead make tickets a point system that eventually accumulate a fine that is levied at the state level. This would then eliminate the local government motivation for Revenue shenanigans

Because tons of other illegal activities are discovered during basic traffic stops.

Which is actually sort of my point. It's nothing more than a sideways method of conducting a search and seizure where you couldn't do it otherwise.

Well when someone commits a crime and gets away, the police are often told to Be On The Look Out for people matching the description given by the VICTIMS. It's how you get criminals off the streets. Cowtowing to lawless, cuck politicians is not how you protect communities.

Why not simply give in to mob rule?

so you want the wild wild west of roads then? How about cops do their job without acing like asshoes or violating constitutional rights? that makes a lot more sense.

1. The driver and the owner of the licensed vehicle are not always the same.
2. How will they enforced drivers licenses if there is almost a zero chance anyone will be pulled over and checked for driver's license.
3. Part of the point of pulling someone over is to stop them from committing said violation. If you are caught speeding and simply sent a ticket in the mail you could end up having numerous violations without even knowing.
4. People don't always live at the address connected to their license plate.
5. No more stops likely increases the chance of seeing automated speed traps and the like. I find getting dozens of speeding tickets in the mail from hidden speed cameras far more unsettling than being stopped by a person.

What’s wrong with a search and seizure based on no evidence with no judicial safeguards?

So what if somebody is bobbing and weaving all over the road?

In America, you have to pay to commit crimes. DUI? Pay a lawyer and its gone. Speeding? Sure i was doing 100 heres 400 bucks now frick off cop.
if your super rich, you dont even get jailed for murder. Ray Lewis, OJ, ect..
We need to remove the monetization of criminal behavior
Posted on 8/23/20 at 7:13 pm to ShortyRob
How about you frickers learn to not break the law and not resist the police when you do?

Q. How do municipalities collect tax money from people who don't pay property taxes?
A. Speed trap low income, high traffic areas. Pull over every burned out taillight, lane switch without signalling, not waiting 2 seconds before turning on red, and rolling stop.
You bleed them with your intricate network of fines, then you bleed them with court costs and traffic school. If you're really lucky, the ashtray smells like weed and you can impound their car to auction later or receive a fine for that too. If you're really, really lucky, you get them to blow a .08 and win your fines, court cost, cash bail, car auction lottery + proceeds to be received later when you get to pop the perp for driving without a license for the next 2 years.
We're told the world wouldn't function without this labyrinthine system of exploitation that overwhelmingly targets poor black and Latino residents. Most of us can't even begin to imagine a world without it.

Evidently you've never watched live pd. The police took alot of drugs and guns off the street from simple traffic stops.

It is just government theft. Guns are not illegal, drugs shouldn't be illegal. All free people should be allowed to own guns.

It’s a matter of misaligned incentives. The fact that we let police become a source of revenue generation for themselves should be a problem for everyone.
