Most powerful in BR was Andrew in 1992 when gusts of 105 mph littered the city with oaks but power outages were manageable
Andrew was a bitch, power went out in a lot of areas for a week. I remember knowing someone who ran a shaved ice business, we went and got blocks of ice from him.

A branch fell on my parents' house, skewering the roof, and my brother and I (both pretty drunk) went up and cut it free with a chainsaw during the height of the storm.

Katrina in 2005 actually made little impact on BR — too far to the East
I rode Katrina out at my parent's house, and watched 5, yes 5 oaks go down that day. 4 in the front, 1 in the back. I remembered those from my childhood; that house and lot never looked like home again after that. All were solid, the roots pulled free and they just fell over.

Rita was too far West and also had little impact.
Rained like a bitch, which was traumatic enough to my house full of Katrina victims.

Gustav on Labor Day 2007 might have been the most destructive ever in BR. It was pretty much a direct hit. Winds of 90 mph but the infrastructure and power went to shite. Power out for a week or more in many areas.

Was maybe the mildest in my area, of the 4. Will say this, it's the reason I keep Cox instead of AT&T fiber. Cox was up days before ATT came back up with the phone lines. I prefer to have multiple options.

I'm out in the Central area, so I guess it just goes to show, what might hit 1 person hard, is mild just a few miles away.

I remember Andrew well and don't remember major damage like Gustav. I remember throwing nerf footballs down the street to see how far we could throw them
