And it hasn't been garbage time goals either, he has scored the first goal in each match while starting in the #10 role.
Jump on the hype train now because this dude is about to become a Bundesliga star.

If only we had a world class coach to develop and guide our incoming golden generation.

Ah, yes. All that development they can get in the 1 week every 3 months they are together.

A national team coach doesn't develop anything.

Putting the talent in its best spots is what remains to be seen.
I'm not the biggest Gregg fan by any means, but to be completely fair to him, he's yet to call in a full-strength squad for a meaningful match.

I think one thing he does extremely well, that a lot of the young American talents struggle with, is finding space. He just seems to have a nose for being in dangerous positions that allow him to push forward, pick a pass or just simply find the space that makes him a target for a pass.

He does this a lot better than Pulisic did at this age. In fact he’s doing it about 3-4 years earlier than Puli.

You nailed it with him being in the mold of Havertz.
Which if that is what Gio becomes, with McKennie and Adams behind him, we're missing just one more solid winger before having a versatile and dangerous attack.

Our front six for the next decade could be something like this:
Sargent
Pulisic - Gio - Weah
Adams - McKennie
Plus add in whoever else steps up next in the pipeline. I still think Pomykal is going to break out big time once he gets healthy and moves abroad.

Robinson and Dest joining in on the attack as well.
You can make the argument that our biggest unknown for the next cycles is centerback and goalkeeper, which is crazy because that has historically always been our deepest positions.

I yearn for the day we have another leader like Bocanegra manning the back line.

Same and we don't really seem to have any high quality gritty CB's right now, Brooks and Long are very good, but neither really seem to have that "bite" like a DeMerit or Gooch.
Miazga may be that guy if he could GTFO of Chelsea and get some club stability.
It also would be really cool if Konrad could get a loan somewhere for some first team minutes.
There's a day where we could potentially have a front-3 of Pulisic-Weah-Konrad with Robinson and Dest overlapping on the flanks and Gio in the middle of the attack.
All of those guys are in a top 4 league in Europe right now and the oldest guy in that is 21 years old... not to mention Adams and McKennie also in the midfield who are 20 and 22 years old.
There's still a long way to go and there's the whole thing of form and injuries, but this is the most young talent that we've ever had and it's not even close.
If it hits, 2022 could be fun and 2026 could be historic.

I hope Marsch is our manager by 2026. Hope the WC final is in NYC.

Gio is fun to watch. Can’t wait to watch him in the Bundesliga this year

I’m annoyed that the olympics got postponed and now may never happen. The vast majority of our talent is in the U-23 group and I expected us to wreck shite.

Yeah that was a bummer. frick Corona. I did read that they were exempting the year tho. So the Olympics would be a u-24 tournament basically

Could be a shitload of soccer next summer with WCQ, Gold Cup, Olympics and U20 WC. A lot of guys can get meaningful minutes and help us see who should be in the first team picture going forward
