2023 247 Top 100

LA players:
QB Arch Manning #5
S Derek Williams #62
WR Shelton Sampson Jr #84

For reference WA state has more top100 players than LA.

If Manning doesn't end up as #1 the rankings are a total sham

Also when did northern alabama become a hs football hotbed? Maybe im off base but they have a shite load of kids on this list and lately tons of high end talent coming out of Alabaster, Trussville, Birmingham, Huntsville and the surrounding area. Never knew much about that area outside of Hoover.

Looks like 2023 LSU will have to recruit very hard outside the state. Only three LA players on the initial list. It looks to be a down year in the state

Raleigh has a player in the Top 100, probably will stay close to home.

Manning is now reporting offers from Bama, Duke, UGA, LSU, UNC, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Texas.

How can someone say that with such conclusiveness? The 2020 season hasn't even started yet, and nobody has been to any camps this year.

I don't have anything to back this up - but I always feel like elite players in states that don't produce a ton of football talent, like WA, have advantages this early in the process over guys from a state like LA.

These are guys that have played their freshmen year in HS. An elite freshman playing in Washington state has more opportunities to shine because of competition both on his team and other teams versus a guy who may be an elite talent in LA but hasn't produced at that level yet because they are playing better comp or they haven't been able to shine as much because of olayers on their own team.

I don't know anything about the specific 2023 class, but I always feel like in general a state like LA has a lot more young guys that will shine and shoot up the rankings over the next few years.

It’s 2020 ... this top 100 stuff this far out is getting absurd.

Yeah, idk how they can rank a 2022 kid during a time of no camps, no visits, etc. Much less a 2023.

Was Shelton Sampson Sr the guy who followed Jay Lucas at Redemptorist around 2003 or 2004? The name sounds familiar.

He will if he’s smart, and we have Coach E and this offense still in play. That would give him his best chance at a natty and to be the top pick.
But then again, we’ll likely have a full QB room of blue chippers with this system, so of course he would need to evaluate that coming in, unless he’s uber confident he’d be the best QB within first year or two.

These kids would be sophomores this year?

Just look at these rankings for early freaks. 90% will move around drastically as kids mature, begin to actually play in their HS teams and go to camps.
