Went and stuck some fish this weekend. Buddy had this "Hydro Glow" gig light that runs on 4 AA batteries. Light was pretty sweet and lightweight, but he had one fail on him while we were out. He said it's the 4th one to fail on him this year.

Wondering if there were any similar alternatives that might hold up better. Any suggestions?

Coastal Floundering Lights Website

Also can find him on FB

I bought the "1600" dual head model that runs off an external battery I keep in a backpack. He will also build you one with batteries included in the handle if you do not want to carry external battery.

I bought mine 3 yrs ago and still performs like day 1.

Located and built in BSL, Mississippi. Shipping options listed on website as well.

Can someone be successful gigging flounders in Lake Ponchartrain or would the closest area of opportunity be in Gulf Shores?

Always wants to try this, it looks like it would be fun.

Underwater green fishing lights

LINK

Have had several going on 4 years now, no issues. Rechargeable plug in batteries, get at least 5 hours out of them (website claims 5-8) I’ve had as much as 7

ETA: also close to you, can get them in La Marque

I have the coastal floundering light (2400) and a afishnsea light. I actually like the arishnsea light better. It is lighter and brighter than the coastal floundering light. Both are powered by a 12v battery kept in a backpack. I’ve used them primarily on the beaches in Mississippi.
