If it were the other way around.... the Dems wouldn't give a crap about politics and would drag every official before congress

Know who this helps?
Mitt Romney.
Mitt Romney.

The reason why the GOP senators won't drag Comey, Brennan et al in front of their committees is because they are in on the coup. They are part of the problem.

Running joke about Hewitt from about 2008 on.
No matter what happened, it always benefitted Romney in his eyes.

Good for him I suppose but I wish he'd be just as hold libs to the same standards.
He's a complete pussy when he has Chuck Todd on his show.NEVER calls em out or confronts em

Levin called the R's out over 2 years ago when they didn't do anything to pursue investigations into Dim/ Deep State Swamper corruption. The R's had the power to investigate at will until they lost in the midterms and they sat on their hands while the Dims attacked and investigated at will......hmmmmm.

Democrats - bold, proud, fierce and unabashedly self -righteous in their vitriolic accusations towards conservatives , despite the fact that their cases are built on 100% lies.
Republican - Cowardly, timid little twats who refuse to do the right thing even when the entire WORLD knows the facts are on their side, for fear of ' rocking the boat ' and appearing too political.

Sen. Johnson's refusal to 'out' the no name member of the committee tells me it must be Lindsey Graham.
He's hell bent on keeping this thread from being pulled so that his dear Sith Lord John McCain's name is kept out of the spotlight.
So deep is his love for crooked John, Lindsey won't betray his unrequited lover.

Exactly right, they hope Trump doesn’t get elected so they can feed at the trough along with the Dems.

Why did I listen to that? My bp is going thru the roof. What a coward. I would get that Senate committee together and play that Baldwin character in that movie where he screams "coffee is for closers".
How Trump has accomplished what he has around cowards like Johnson in his own party is historical.

Lindsey and Johnson head up different committees. Johnson chairs the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs and Lindsey the Judiciary Committee.
It's more than one GOP senator pushing back. Likely 70%, Johnson included. It's just a dog a pony show. They will never expose the truth.

Johnson is indeed a part of the cover-up. At the very least we know that Burr is involved in sedition and entrapment of the Trump administration.
If you read this politico article carefully, you can see right through Johnson. (He made headlines last week he was hauling in such and such for testimony) Johnson is playing a game, it is clear and read the bolded parts of what will never be investigated.
Bottom line they are protecting republicans, democrats (Biden others) and Romney regarding Burisma. I just saw HHM's thread that is way off base. As Ron Johnson is covering up. Graham is as well but by hauling RR in and playing defense for Roddy as if he is his lawyer.

quote:
Johnson emphasized that he needs the unanimous support of his committee's eight Republicans to advance any subpoenas — one defection would likely result in a 7-7 deadlock with the committee's six Democrats. "If I lose one, I lose the vote," Johnson said.
Hewitt repeatedly asked Johnson to name the Republicans on the Senate Homeland Security Committee who would oppose subpoenaing Comey.
"Hugh, I'm just not going to be naming names that way," Johnson replied.
"If there's a senator who is blocking a subpoena, we need to know who that is so we throw them out," Hewitt said later.
But Johnson did not mention that Comey, Brennan and other senior Obama administration intelligence community leaders were included in a list of officials that Johnson was given blanket authority to subpoena in June.
It's unclear how committee Republicans could block a subpoena power after having already granted it to the chairman. Johnson did mention that some of the figures Hewitt pressed him on were also under the jurisdiction of the Senate Judiciary Committee, who chairman, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is leading a parallel investigation into the Russia probe.
Johnson, who said he's working on the investigation "non-stop," also refused to commit to calling a vote on a Comey subpoena the next time his committee meets. "Not on a radio show, Hugh. Sorry," Johnson said, prompting Hewitt to demand an apology from Johnson "to the American people."
The interview underscores the degree to which there's a reluctance among some Senate Republicans to advance an investigation that Democrats have viewed as a conduit for foreign disinformation aimed at former Vice President Joe Biden less than three months before the election as well as to amplify allegations of corruption by the FBI in its Trump-Russia probe. Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah), one of the eight Republicans on Johnson's panel, raised concerns about the investigation's political overtones in the spring, though he ultimately has backed some of the panel's subpoena requests.
Johnson said Republican resistance had delayed his effort to subpoena Blue Star Strategies, a Democratic public relations firm that did work for Burisma, the Ukrainian gas company that Hunter Biden served on the board of. He also cited the lengthy criminal investigations and the coronavirus pandemic for delaying his committee's ability to get documents from the FBI, which he said were essential before seeking live testimony from central witnesses.

I think Hugh summed up what we all want to say pretty fricking well. It's about time someone with some interview time publicly put some feet to that fire!

For once, Hew Hewitt does something I admire. It is as if every single GOP Senator has some skeleton in his closet that powerful interests hold over them to keep them in line.
