A 5.1 magnitude earthquake felt in Charlotte shortly after 8 a.m. Sunday was centered just over a mile south of Sparta, North Carolina, near the Virginia border, the strongest quake to hit the state in more than a century.
This was the strongest earthquake to hit North Carolina since 1916, according to the National Weather Service, when a 5.2 magnitude quake occurred near Skyland, just outside Asheville.
Sparta is an Alleghany County town of about 1,800 people, 100 miles north of Charlotte.

Powerful..lol
The media, man. They suck. 5.1 is on the very low side of a moderate quake.

Was the earthquake a Democrat or a Republican?
After all, this is the Political Talk Board, right?

5.1 is big for NC but is barely above the level to be felt by people.
A 5.1 in California is Tuesday morning.

Yeah, that's like some kids, jumping on the bed.

Agreed, but I think the media is calling it powerful for this area because there hasn't been one since 1916. So it is a big deal to those not used to getting an earthquake.

wrong question
correct question is whether democrats can use it somehow
Trump did sign some EOs and then THE NEXT DAY there was an earthquake in a location that almost never has one.
Coincidence?

How many dead? Will they be counted as wuhan flu? Has the governor declared a state of emergency yet?

The first link I found said "powerful" so I expected something decent. It's objectively not powerful for a quake.
i just hate the media.
