That’s still unbelievably cost prohibitive to exercise a constitutional right. So it’s $100-$150 for a class, $125 for the permit ($175 if you haven’t been a resident for 15 years), plus $40 for notarized forms, and it totals to around $250-$300 to carry a handgun with a piece of fabric covering it. That’s a bit ridiculous considering LA is one of the most gun-friendly states in the country.

To anyone curious, the supposed timeline on fixing the electronic application to remove the need for the notary is sometime this month. Once they work out some security details the notary won’t be needed.
