How Many People Must Die To Make This A Real Pandemic

So, Approximately 3,000 people a day die in the US. So that’s roughly 3,000,000 a year that die in this country alone. I get that there is a hefty death toll from this virus. But I always hear that our planet is overpopulated and that there needs to be a population check. Is this not what our planet needs? I’m confused by some people that are ok with abortion as a population control, but not ok with a natural virus that does essentially the same thing. I’ve seen my grandparents die in the last 5 years, but I can tell you it wasn’t a pretty ending. I don’t want to seem morbid, but I can tell you they would’ve wished they could’ve been taken earlier at a healthier state. These death tolls are staggering, but we have to realize who they are taking. The young casualties are anomalies. Peace be with you all.

1 death is too many. If it saves just 1 life, it’s worth it.

Look at the numbers. This is a big deal. But should be put into context.

Every life lost is tragic, but I think the reason people aren't treating this as grave as previous pandemics is the age distribution of the deaths. It's mostly killing people with only a few years left anyway.
1918 flu killed wiped was deadly for all age cohorts.
Under the age of like 50, this thing is no deadlier than seasonal flu.
Personally, I shudder at the thought of wasting away in a nursing home just waiting to die. give me a quick death once I cannot function independently.

It is a real pandemic.
Problem is jackasses are now causing collateral damage Keeping businesses closed thinking they will save a few folks.
Fat Bertha will contract the virus eventually whether it be in Walmart loading up on frozen pizza, or eating out at a restaurant JBE has closed. Only a matter of time before those fat clogged lungs fail to combat the Rona.

60 million Americans got the swine flu under Obama and we didn't even shut the country down. That's why no one treats this seriously.

How many days are in a year?

I don’t want anyone to die unnecessarily. But this virus seems to be targeting those that have conditions that have compromised their life expectancy. It’s a horrible thing, but we cannot save everybody. It’s an awful situation that we have to live with.

Swine flu isn’t nearly as deadly as this. Not even close
Swine flu killed like 12k Americans

That guy who was a kamikaze pilot but lived to be a hundred is now revered. That's what confuses me.
