I'm a 5th year Senior at LSU...I'll graduate this December. I have been a football student season ticket holder since I was a Freshman. I had a baby in January, so I took this past spring semester off for maternity leave. Hell I stood the whole time at the Florida game 6 1/2 months pregnant! I never received an email about student tickets this year, so I called the ticket office a couple of weeks ago. They proceed to tell me that I had to be a full-time student in the spring and the fall or an incoming Freshman in order for me to receive my tickets!! I explained my situation and they told me I had to write an appeal letter to the student government to see if they would allow me to get the tickets. I did that and I haven't heard anything!! I called the Student Government office about it and I just get the run-around. This is complete bullshite, that I'm penalized for having a baby and taking a semester off. My TOPS scholarship didn't even give me this much trouble!

Condoms usually help out in a situation like this. That and birth control.

Well, sorry, but this can't possibly be news to you if you've been ordered student tickets for four years... that disclaimer is plastered all over EVERYTHING I have ever seen about student tickets... you have to be a full-time student, in good standing and have a 2.0... it's in all the e-mails, on the site, hell, it may even be on the actual tickets! If you drop down to not be full-time after getting your tickets, i'm pretty sure they can revoke them! It just seems like you would be aware of this if you were experienced with ordering tickets. this year was only my second time and i know it off the top of my head...

+1

Doesn't matter if you were a student before, or plan to be after.

Those are the rules, they aren't obsure, it really does suck and I feel for you, but you really should have 1) checked before not taking the spring semester, and 2) at least talked to SG before pretty much all of the tickets have already been sold.

It doesn't say full-time in the Spring. For any student tickets you have to be full-time for the semester that the event is played. Or that's the way it had been because I asked about student basketball tickets when I was pregnant.

You are penalized for being a dumbass and thinking they would just hand you tickets after not being enrolled in the spring and waiting till july to take care of it.

because you don't get those tickets until the event.

Correct. However, you lost your status as a student by taking a semester off. You will be applying with the incoming and transfer freshmen.

I feel for you.

There should be exceptions to the rules for situations like this. Keep on them and maybe they will quietly take care of you.

If not, you will have to buy them like the rest of us who are not students.

Congraduations on your newborn!

If you have been a ticket holder for 5 years you should know the rules. Plus you cant expect SG to do anything right.

Right. It should be clear that BB and FB are completely different from the fact that they are not sold, and they are first time first sold. Either your ID number is in their system as a full time student or it is not.

The real problem is waiting till late July to ask about it. You should have been all over that a month ago rather than waiting for an email to be sent out(which was sent like a month ago, like in all prior years).

Well 5th year senior, new mom, time off from school... I would throw it out there that you're not really a "student" anymore. Come on do you still want to sit in the student section with all those drunken loonies? Your college days are over..get on with life..

Why? Where would they cut it off? Every person who ever takes a semester off would want to be considered.

What a bunch of holier-than-thou pseudo-hardasses!

She screwed up. She doesn't say the rule isn't clear, only that she thinks it's a bullshite rule, as applied to her situation. Back off, cut her some slack, and offer to take her to a game or 2.
