80K ballots were invalidated in NY

The mail-in ballots of more than 84,000 New York City Democrats who sought to vote in the presidential primary were disqualified, according to new figures released by the Board of Elections.
The city BOE received 403,103 mail-in ballots for the June 23 Democratic presidential primary.
But the certified results released Wednesday revealed that only 318,995 mail-in ballots were counted.
That means 84,108 ballots were not counted or invalidated — 21 percent of the total.
One out of four mail-in ballots were disqualified for arriving late, lacking a postmark or failing to include a voter’s signature, or other defects. The New York Post reported Tuesday that roughly 30,000 mail-in ballots were invalidated in Brooklyn alone.

That percentage is basically spot on for the MIT study of the 2008 absentee ballots during the presidential election. 21% of those ballots were not counted.

Come November if Dementia Joe is trailing the lawsuits to get the rejected ballots counted will drag the election results past the new year.

This election contest and the aftermath is going to make 2000 look like 1984.

IF anyone is wondering why dems are pushing so hard for mail in voting, think about the ones that didn't get invalidated.

We are about to witness a dumpster fire on a cluster frick within a shitshow, this election cycle.

There’s an increasing chance that we have a full blown constitutional and political crisis at the end of the year. It could be very bad

Chris Wallace said there was no evidence of problems with mail-in voting.

100%
California, Vermont, DC, Nevada going to the all out mail in voting already guarantees we won't know the popular vote winner (California being so large and pacific time) until a week at best.
Then I saw this...
quote:
No state previously mailed absentee ballot applications to all voters in a general election. This year, DE, IL, MD, MA, MI, WI, IA, and OH will try it. It’s what NY tried in the June primary, overwhelming an unprepared system
4 of those are crucial swing states. I fervently believe Iowa and Ohio will go trump but having them with WI and MI trying what New York did is going to be a huge clusterfrick and we will not know results by even the next day. Hopefully a week.
Exit polls and turnout are going to be huge indicators.
But depending on the state with a lot of early voting and absentee early we'll see who has leads a lot sooner than Election Day.

If the same percentage of votes is invalidated in the general election in November, then 28.9M votes wouldn't be counted. 21% x 138M (2016 Vote count) = 28M
That is enough to swing the election in either direction.
This isn't a partisan issue, if we're going to use mail in voting then we need to get this figured out fast to prevent these type issues in the general election.

Insane. If people are allowed to go protest in the streets for months on end we are fine to vote in person. Hell if we can go to the freakin grocery store we can vote in person. Why don't we just hold in person voting over a 10 day period if they're worried about people spreading the virus? Why don't we make a schedule based on zip codes or something? Don't count any ballots before the usual "polls closed" time on Election Day.

How will this be handled? Vote by mail then vote in the booth before all the mail in votes are counted.

So those weren't actually mail-ins.

Chrissy was right. It appears there were no problems with mail-in voting, just that some people are morons and probably shouldn't be voting anyway.

It makes it easier for dead people and illegals to vote to swing the election from Trump to Biden. This is nothing short of fraud
Posted on 8/6/20 at 4:23 pm to Chromdome35
This is good news for Republicans if Democrat voters can’t fill the mail in ballots out right.

One party is going to use this as an example of, “see, mail in voting is safe from fraud. Ballots being invalidated is proof that the checks in the system work.”
If you ask me, any system with 20-25% of its input data being invalid, is a shitty system...
