The strength of the 2020 team?

What position group will be the strength of the team? I personally feel like the DL is the deepest most talented group. But then again the WR and DB rooms are full of young talent as well

I just want LSU to win. I don’t really care which groups the best or worst

Probably WR just because Terrace and Ja’Marr together are just unfair, but maybe DB for volume of talent. Stingley, Flott, Stevens, Harris, Vincent, Hampton, and Ricks is an insane group.

I will put in a dark horse vote for the linebackers.

First time in a while I expect the LSU DL to feast

If you allow me to separate D-Tackles from D-Ends, then clearly our DTs are the deepest and most experienced group on the team. But our DEs are very inexperienced/unproven at LSU (McLendon and Ojulari are potential starters??).
If not the DT group, I would probably go with RB. All 3 of those guys got touches in big games.

Well sure, but this is a message board to discuss those things so not sure your point of just wanting to win.

I'd say WR. Chase and Marshall are know commodities. McMath has made some plays in his time at LSU, and IMO it's easier for young players and true freshman to have a big impact at WR than other positions.
The DL has Shelvin, Logan, Thomas and Farrell. Of that group (while all solid) only Shelvin stands out as a game changer. Now, the incoming Freshman could be tremendous right away. Thus making the DL a dominant group. But it can be difficult even for the best DL (particularly on the interior) to make a big impact right away. The physicality level is such a huge jump from HS to college. These guys are going from easily being the biggest/strongest players along the LOS in HS, to matching up with veteran OL who are just as big and probably even stronger.

It’s WR. Chase gets all the attention, and deservedly so, but Marshall is going to show out.

Agreed.
I am a fan. It is my job to make sure we win too alongside other parts of the team. I hope me and My Family are the best group. We will try to be any way.
So Should You and Your Family.
But My Family will Beat Your Family.

To me it's WR. Chase and Marshall will probably both go in the 1st round. Jefferson and Chase won all of the awards and accolades but Marshall quietly put up 13 TDs in only 12 games. Under normal circumstances he'd be a no doubt about it stud #1 WR.
Behind those two the depth chart is full of athletic WRs with size. They are absolutely loaded. Then you throw in Arik Gilbert who will probably be used as WR quite a bit and my oh my.

wr/db - A+ almost unfair
ol - A/A- starters are studs. ?? after them.
DL - B+ not ready to call them elite, but will be improved because they will now rotate more than they have in years.
rb/lb - B/B-
qb - ?? talent is there, can he do it with the lights on?

I doubt there is a weak area on the team. Some unproven in games, but the talent/strength is there.
I'm more confident now than I was this time last season.
The only freshman, or player without game experience is TE, Gilbert, and he has beaten out a more experienced player.

The fans will be the most intergirl part of this team. Especially in the time of Covid. I hope you are all ready!!!

I think it’s one of those situations where people who don’t follow LSU will say they lost so much talent, they won’t be that good. Until they actually look at the roster and at all positions. So happy people doubt this team, it will make it that much sweeter when they prove otherwise.

The strength of the 2020 team? by BlackAngus
Myles Brennan has a chance to lead this team to 3 Nattys in a row! Narrow minds, you didn’t see 15-0! Narrow minds, you can’t see this either. Go back to sleep!
Who can stop an LSU that executes with outstanding playcalling of Coach Ensminger & Linehan with a serious TE talent boost in 2020.
