Will be reinstated started August 9th. Until now that has been waived.

Good. If it’s as easy as in Texas, it takes like 20 min a week. If you are receiving benefits, you should already bee doing 10x this during the course of the week anyway.

Do you have to prove you looked for work or just say you looked?
Years ago you had to get a form signed by potential employers saying you tried getting a job with them but none were available. Now you just press a button on the phone or online saying you are actively seeking a job.

I'm glad I have been keeping a running spreadsheet on all this. Makes it easier and glad it's back.

Good. When I was on unemployment it was a pain in the arse back in the day. I hope these people enjoy that.

I saw some loophole to the requirement being shared by a terrible IG page yesterday. Wish I could find it now.
It was basically something like "Put that you demand $15/hour plus full benefits on your resume when you apply, and you will be turned down for the job. You technically applied, so this satisfies the requirement."

Why is their so much hate for people who pay a ton in taxes and are still shut down by the governor getting an abysmal $222 a week unemployment? Not everyone is a minimum wage loser or refusing to work. Very few places are more than 50% capacity.
So people who own bars or wedding reception venues and are shut down by the governor need to apply for minimum wage jobs? They pay thousands in taxes and are shut down through no fault of their own. They shouldn’t be able to collect $222 a week unemployment that they’ve been paying in unemployment taxes for years? My 70 year old neighbor is a substitute teacher. So she shouldn’t be able to get any unemployment?

Is this required if you are/were furloughed?

We get unsolicited resumes pretty often from people wildly unsuited for the field in general, much less anything we might have available. I figure it's people just checking the box for their unemployment claims.

bout time

They don’t have enough staff right now to call the almost 400,000 on unemployment to see why the hell they're not working.
So, now they’re magically going to make over a million calls a week (3 per person) to see if Pookie and Tyrell filled out applications? They’re gonna call Walmart and Target for the 25,000 people who lie and put them down as their searches for the week? Sure.

They must think people are really stupid to believe this is even feasible.
If someone files for unemployment on Sunday (a closed day for most businesses), they get paid by 1 am Tuesday. No way is the unemployment office going to be able to make 300,000 calls to verify job searches during the day on Monday.

It’d be great if you low life’s found a job. Quit being lazy. Go do work you that you’re over qualified for or think you’re above. Americans are entitled pussies sometimes. There’s plenty of jobs out there. May not be the one you want but for fricks sake quit sinking our economy by taking benefits.

They need to give the money to the people working. Reward the non lazy assholes. Stimulus was the worst they they could have done for the economy long term. Short term great idea. But let’s have able people sit at home for 6 months making $8k.
