Any idea how long LSU employment background checks with HireRight take?

I submitted mine over a week ago, nothing yet. HireRight chat support is useless.

This was 4 years ago and not during the middle of a pandemic, but it took about a week for me. They had to run multiple states for me though.

My company uses HireRight as a background vendor. The times vary. Some candidates we get a full report the next day, sometimes it takes two weeks.
Delays are affected currently by Covid shutdowns to various courthouses around the country.

Check with Derek Ponamsky, he’s adept at navigating back ground checks in addition to the Mississippi River.

They have to be meticulous. They don't want physical plant workers perving on coeds in the Quad.

I'm guessing they didn't hire you to work in the Critical Thinking Department

Holy fricking shite is this true or what!? I, too, worked for LSU for four years and although the health and time off benefits are great, you will become miserable after a year or so. Unless the position you're vying for is a top-level cushy job with great pay, run away and start looking at Option B.
Huge fan of the university as an alum and a huge fan of the athletics but I'll never go work there again.

If they are doing anything that is manual on the vendors side then these days it takes forever....we had to stop doing local backgrounds through Careerbuilder for the time being because the local authorities are sometimes shutdown or don't have the staff to run the info down right now....we backed off to just federal and state checks because some of our background were taking 2 weeks to a month to get done.

Gumbo, I never knew you were a former LSU plebe as well. They did pay for grad school, so that was a bonus. By the time I left I was earning 10 hours of sick leave a month and 14 hours of annual leave per month. But the salary was shite and it wore on me very quickly. There's also a very large disparity in salaries all across the system.
Depending on what OP will be doing, it couldn't hurt to at least get a year or two to put on his resume, but as you said, unless you're at the (very) top, it's not a place I would recommend spending very long or try to make a career out of.
