I wouldn’t bet on that. They are saying potentially 2Q2021 - 3Q2021

Sweden duh. They have 30x fewer than the US. They would achieve it first even if they had locked down completely.

NY and NE deaths far below peaks.
NYC has had days with zero deaths this week.

Same pattern appearing in the South and Texas.

Do the math. About 330 million people in the U.S. pick any percentage you think constitutes herd immunity. If we average between 50,000 - 100,000 new cases per day, it will take a few years to gain herd immunity. That assumes that people keep imminity over the duration.

All good news. How does that relate to herd immunity?

Viruses EVOLVE to be more contagious but less deadly

This has probably already happened with COVID-19. It would explain the shockingly low death totals in the last month in the USA.

Herd threshold is 20-30%.

40 million plus already infected.

Most infections aren't even caught.

It's not that far off.

exactly, we don’t know what the % threshold is to reach heard immunity

we also don’t know if a vaccine is a certainty. It’s not.

Sweden behavior isn't changed, yet deaths down about 95%.

NYC is relaxing restrictions.
And deaths down 99%.

Even the most ardent mask proponent has to admit they aren't cutting 99% of infections.

I'm not sure what's driving your vaccine skepticism, but there are 5 vaccines around the world in phase 3 already, with many more soon reaching that threshold. Oxford vaccine could potentially be given emergency authorization in 2 months. There's a chance these vaccines fail in phase 3, but you gotta be pretty pessimistic to believe that none will work.

I feel like you are conflating infections and deaths.

You keep stating all of this about herd immunity, but haven't ever linked to a source backing up the statements. I don't want to doubt you, but I would prefer to read about it and evaluate the reliability of the source.

Sounds awesome. Hope we do get an effective vaccine so this lockdown horseshite can end.

Not sure where you got 40 million from, but even if that is accurate, it took us roughly 8 months to get there. Another 8 months puts us into 2021.

F outta here with that. Things have been up and running for the most part. And to be honest, most didn't follow the lockdown restrictions anyway. Much like they aren't following the mask mandates. So yea.

Look at all the charts on worldometers. worldometers Covid US

NY, NJ, Spain, Sweden, Italy, Germany etc.

All look similar.

As far as "cases" those aren't a good metric. Most aren't caught. While a portion are probably bullshite deaths are a good metric.
Plus, who cares if healthy ppl get infected and don't pass to frail ppl who die?

Peak near 1,000/day.
Now just a few.

Come on man.
It's basically over for them.
