Yankees-Nationals averaged 4 million viewers last night for ESPN. Most-watched regular season MLB game since 2011
Obviously a lot of different factors at play here. Interested to see how games today and this weekend do.

I'm ready to get home from work, put baseball on, and watch until I crash.

I think it’s obvious people are starved for sports and hope is that after the initial show the first week or so things go back to being about you know.. the actual games

I can't wait to watch the Red Sox tonight. But I also know they're going to have a shitty season.

That can’t be true, the MSB is boycotting MLB in case you were unaware.

surprising based on how dead the in game thread on here was. it was like 10 posters talking to themselves.
its also a sign of how awful the NBA is, how in the world did they let baseball beat them to opening day? the NBA restart plan was way too slow. NBA should've been tipping off last week

It really is weird. I understand the bubble thing had a lot of moving pieces but it was dumb of them to be late to this.
However their playoffs will be bigger than regular season baseball

And I feel pretty confident the Laker game on opening night will get more than 4 million viewers

yeah i swear the MLB was still bitching about player salaries and looked like they might not even have a season when the NBA announced their plan to return...yet MLB opening day still beat them by a week

The bubble is a sham. People have been outting them from day 1 it’s just not reported nationally.

I hate both of those games but watched both.

Agreed. It's ridiculous that the NBA isn't playing real games yet.

MLB just launched a website with 1619 Project, Southern Poverty Law center and others so......

So two predominantly Democrat area teams had good ratings? Shocker. Be interesting to see how it works for some other cities or areas. Interested in Atlanta, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Cincinnati, etc.

Wait MLB started yesterday? No shite I had no clue

Worse from the last 3. It'll be really groundbreaking stuff when national tv games of small market teams rate less than the big market teams.

That's can't be right, according to the MSB and O-T, everyone hates MLB now cause they "woke".
