Anyone used these? Do they give any advantage?
I've always used just plain leadheads.

Very little advantage over any other jig heads. The hook matters more than anything. I like them for fishing Louisiana because the hooks bend and I can usually save a few when fishing rocks.

Its an Eagle Claw hook if that matters to you at all. More importantly, choose the style (round, arrow, mushroom, etc.) of hook that matches how you're fishing.

Hook points go dull quicker than other jigheads in my experience, but easy enough to re-sharpen with a quick touch up on a hook sharpening stone.

Also the eyes seem to fall off rather quickly in my experiences. I’ve used them quite a bit in all the different colors.
All in all, probably better and cheaper options out there.

I would keep using the plain lead heads
The chartreuse Matrix shad soft plastic is a killer lure this time of year though

Honestly, the suck. I used to use them but they are terrible at holding on a Matrix Shad and you will need to replace your plastic every few fish and or adjust your bait. I would recommend Death Grip Jig Heads. Buy them in bulk bags (25). The hooks are awesome and the way they are weighted make them fall right. Much better quality than the goldeneye junk. Chag's and Puglia's sell them.

They are my go-to jig head. The biggest advantage for me is you can buy a 5 year supply of jig heads for ~$15 at a festival/boat show/event like LA Sportsman show. They sell them by the pound at events. Not the greatest thing out there but decent quality and I've caught everything from sharks to flounder. I use them free lining, under cork, swim bait fast retrieve, bump bottom slow retrieve, etc. They are a good Swiss Army jig head for me.
I can't tell a difference between gold, red or white. I also can't tell a difference between eye decals on or fallen off. I've only bent them where they should have bent... rocks, sting ray buried, bull red. They don't rust quickly so I can reuse them after salt water trip.

This. They are super sharp and hold that point good. Do not have to worry about bait sliding down.
H&H also makes a red eye jig head I like.

Anybody tried these Z-Man Texas Eye Jig HeadZ

Yes, they are awesome. I use them when I fish crystal clear waters in Florida with a Z-man trout trick.
I also use the golden eye jig heads but only in crystal clear water. I make compact spinner baits with them.
Like someone said earlier, death grip jig heads are awesome. Plastics just won’t come off of them and they are great for Louisiana water.

The Z-Man Trout Eyes are better imo. The Z-Man elastic is a little tricky however.

Lol. And make sure you hook the bait on correct the first time because they’re won’t be a second. I usually have 3 rods rigged with death grips all with different colors matrix and a Lil John this time of year.
Oh, if anyone’s curious that we have lit the trout up on that purple lil John recently

I did pretty well in West G Bay a few weeks ago on the Purple Demon Lil John. Not sure what it is about the purple demon but that color Lil John is deadly.
Also, I use golden eyes a lot and I like them because of the short shank. Not sure if they are available in Louisiana, but Knotty Hooker jigheads are legit. Check them out if you run across any.
A while back and friend and I were fishing over scattered shell and I had on a 1/8 oz. goldeneye jighead. I was getting snagged every cast. The guys I was fishing with had a 1/8 oz fishhead shaped jighead. The kind that is really skinny and sort of angled to the eye. Anyway, he didn't get snagged on the shell at all, so I switched and sure enough my snags stopped. Not sure what the reason for that was, but the traditional round lead jighead caused the snags and the skinny fishead type didn't, so I made sure to pickup a couple of packs of those shaped jigheads.

They make quality products across the board. I find myself buying more and more of their plastics.
I am picky about a lot of other parts of my tackle but jig heads aren't one. I have a mix of the "golden eye", H&H, Death Grip, and other assorted makes and types. Death Grip seem to be the most well made to me but I find the golden eyes work just fine.

Got tired of changing out plastics last summer in grand isle. Switched exclusively to death grip jig heads. Ive caught over 100 trout on 1 death grip jig head and a Zman plastic. Best bang for buck.
I still like Matrix shad its just not as durable as the Zman. However, with a deathgrip jig head, it will still get you 15-25 trout on a single plastic generally.
