I’m looking to install landscape edging on all my flower beds in the front yard. I hate maintaining the beds and my hope is that the edging will block the runners coming from my centipede grass.

Thoughts?

I don’t use edging for my centipede. Just develop a deep enough trench with an edger and the centipede has trouble getting into the beds. But I edge it every time I mow. Only takes a few minutes.

I have bermuda and Col-Met edging has worked well for me. I edged in the outline of my beds first then staked this edging into the groove. Make sure the stakes face the bed and use a rubber mallet instead of a hammer

Edging isn’t needed with a good cutting program. If you aren’t keep up with consistently, the grass will find a way in eventually. It’s why I laugh when people think weed fabric will prevent weeds. Slow them? A little. Prevent them? No

You cannot beat the good ole weedeater. With that being said- if you are going to put down metal edging, go to a landscape supply place or even save a couple bucks and go to a steel supply company and buy you some 20' sticks of 4 or 6 inch 3/16" flat bar...

You can buy the stakes at the same landscape supply shops.
