I always thought he was a hero. There is a weird kind of third option that he is actually a CIA operative meant to make the NSA look bad with all of their big brother gear.

Can't make up my mind.
Mixed judgement....read his book.....saw him on Rogan......I've read some criticism that questions some of his timeline.
I mean he broke the law but he certainly exposed some shite that needed to be exposed.
I love how he points out that when the government is found to be breaking the law, they don't stop the behavior, they just change the law to accommodate the lawbreaking in sneaky ways with altruistic sounding laws.

Alerting us to the unwarranted surveillance of American citizens is not treason. Treason is what Bowe Bergdahl did and he is a free man. That’s the real disgrace.

He was never a traitor. He gave us a glimpse into how fricked up our government is. Our permanent government lied to us all, they spy on us all.
The election of trump gave us another glimpse at how fricked up our government is. Top brass in the NSA, CIA, DOJ and FBI worked hand in hand in an attempt to oust a sitting president, and imprison him. Just because he beat hillbitch, their previously selected potus.

Former CIA in the NSA to leak NSA's capabilities.
