I’m sure this has been posted on here and I must have missed it. Ginger Miles caught an 851.9 lb Blue Marlin out of Orange Beach. The boat was the Fleur-de-lis, a 72' Viking out of Grand Isle, Louisiana.

So they ran from OBA to offshore Venice, LA, caught 851 lb, ran back to OBA, weighed it. AL state record. Sounds about right

ETA: oops forgot to mention *boat from LA

It's Ginger Myers, not Miles. Her husband Keith next to her. They own LHC.

Haven't spoke to her yet about it, but she called the office to let me know.

She is rightfully proud.

That is a good and proper fish no matter where in the world it is caught! I have caught a bunch of bill fish and I don't know that I have ever had one on over 700....I have had some on I couldn't do anything with but I have had some that started that way and ended up next to the boat and weighed around 300 or so....I don't know that I want any part of a fish of that size now...300 pounders are one thing....over that and it starts to resemble ditch digging and pulp wooding LOL.
