Mowed my lawn yesterday.Heat was like standing in front of an oven set at 475F. Sun was so hot the clouds were staying away from it.

My new ac has been a beast. I think it isn’t running enough. I may slow down the blower speed to remove more humidity.

There’s no way anyone’s home ac can keep up with 100 degrees feeling like 112
69 degrees in my house and the compressor just cycled off.

I've got an old 2.5 ton in a 1535 sq ft house. Poor old gal is struggling hard. Set at 74, but it got to 80 in the house yesterday.
This was the about setup in our first house and it had no shade. It struggled to keep it below 80 on really hot days.

Yeah it's really not large enough for the house. It runs all day during the summer regardless and then can't keep up during these really hot days.

Yeah, I really felt like that house should have had a 3 ton in South Louisiana. It was like 1520 sq ft and was built by one of the big national builders so of course they are going to cut corners where they can.
Ours is right in the edge of a 4/5 ton and I'll be putting another 5 in when it's time to replace.

My thermostat was set at 75 and it got up to 77 in the house. Don't think it caught up until midnight. In response, I replaced the filter and hosed off the condensing coils. Hopefully it will do a bit better today, but I'm not counting on it.

Identical here.

Yep I am horrible at changing it and I noticed a decent performance increase once I popped a new one in last weekend.

My downstairs stays at 77 when the air is off. I keep upstairs at 75 with the AC on during the day and 70 at night. My bill for June was only $68.

Sitting at 73, it’s kicked off a couple times today. Not for long though.

Keep the downstairs at 72 ... Ran 14.5 hours yesterday (had been averaging 11hrs). Upstairs at 70(baby room) and it ran 16.5hoirs yesterday :yikes:

Both units cycling on and off and they’re each set to 74. It was hotter than two rats humping in a wool sock today.
