bro in law is giving me shite about not wearing a mask. Says it's no different than PPE in a plant. Says the numbers are up bc people weren't wearing masks.

I need to prove him wrong. Hes a CNN following leftist. Help me out. Doesnt pay to Google

Find a graph for the area you are interested in. Compare it to changes in mask orders. Does it correlate at all, considering time lags? If not the masks do not have an effect

Bless his heart.

Honestly, there's nothing that can be done. Anyone who buys what CNN is pitching doesn't have the brain power to sus things out for themselves anyway.

You should start by figuring out the basis for your own opinion rather than just trying to show someone they’re wrong.

Why? Wouldn’t you just want to know the truth either way?

If masks are so protective, then why weren’t they mandated nationwide back in March?

Sleep with his wife.

Tell him he can mask his pain.

Now, I think they're just outright fudging/padding the numbers, and if they are, then he's wrong.

But, if I'm just crazy and they aren't doing that, he's wrong because cases tripled in Cali almost 1 month after the mask mandate.

Clean, fresh surgical masks are prudent measures if you're going to operate on someone or even visit someone with a severely compromised immune system.

Dew rags and dirty, unwashed months old "masks" of whatever configuration are not only no protection for anyone, they're counterproductive because they are traps for everything imaginable and encourage folks to touch their faces a shite ton. And that is even when they're "properly worn" (although how in the frick you're suppose to "properly" wear a dew rag or dirty bandana is beyond me) and not below the nose or chin.

I’m amused by the people that freak out when someone isn’t wearing a mask in public. I’m equally amused by people that think requirements to wear a mask is somehow a grave threat to their rights.

Stop politicizing the issue, jackass. Wearing a mask is better than not wearing a mask. Why does this bother you? Why do you need the approval of the nutjobs on this board?

Why is wearing one better than not? Where's the proof?

Don’t give up so easily.

I’d they’re dumb enough to believe everything CNN says, they’re dumb enough to believe your logic.

Unless the mask isa N95 then the masks are effectively useless

The weave of the masks that everyone is running around using is about as effective as using a chain link fence to keep out mosquitos.

They are like most things liberals do, symbolism over substance.

No it isn't. Particularly not for the wearer who is not sick.

Because it isn't rooted in science and is virtue signalling gibberish.
