On June 21, LA had 589 Covid 19 patients in hospitals. On July 11, we have 1182 Covid 19 patients in hospitals. We have had 302 more deaths from Covid 19 during that same time period.
All cause mortality in the United States has been below expected numbers since June 13th and declining. Even taking into account fewer traffic fatalities (things have been much more open, so how much impact that is remains questionable), seems like the recent national numbers are puffery, double counting, just cooking the books (even I concede they're only doing this for the money, the books are cooked nonetheless, are they not), so I'm just concerned about the agenda of those pushing panic here.
Hospital utilization is an issue, of course, but a State of 4 million can handle 1000 "more" folks in hospitals than are norm. This isn't even a net number because people are putting off medical treatment (yet ANOTHER cost and risk by Covid panic). And, we've had plenty of time to prepare over the 4 months. I almost laughed out loud when JBE mentioned "ventilators", using talking points almost 90 days out of date.
We have so many excess ventilators, as a nation, we can fill an Olympic sized pool with them.
And masks, as they are currently being mandated and worn are not only no protection from the disease, at all, they're counterproductive.
Silly virtue signalling would be bad enough if useless. When it is counterproductive, it is much worse.

Some of these male posters aren't men. They are the type that would flee a war and leave this country and their relatives to suffer or die. They are pathetic.

Agreed. They realized in June that a spike was needed. Thus, more testing and more positives.

What a weak deflection. He is saying that they are pussies.

stop getting tested. Plain and simple.
The test stations I see are always completely or nearly empty.

Dumb fricking statement. These cases existed all along. No difference in today and April, May, or June. We just have the ability to test and confirm.
I totally agree that the cases stat is totally disingenuous and misleading, but what about the fact that we have more than twice as many hospitalizations than we did a month ago?

Yeah, sucks that the govenor wants to try and keep the citizens of this state safe.
Should the Governor be able to tell you not to eat fried foods or drink soft drinks? Should the Governor mandate how much exercise you do? Should the Governor tell you how many hours you should sleep at night?
I mean, if you want the Governor to keep you safe, let him control your entire life.

They collectively are bitchmade. Career politicians and main stream media are directly negtively affecting my quality of life and I'm sick of it. Grow some nuts and open all this shite up.
Is everyone in Italy and Sweden dead yet?

It’s completely irrelevant unless we are exhausting our medical capacity.

Maybe the governor should let his citizens decide if we want to “feel safe”
Instead we get these assholes lying to us.

You can also thank Republicans for their anti-prevention propaganda and “virus is a hoax” bullshite.

By manage things you mean suppress peoples rights and destroy people's lives? Cause mass unemployment and bankruptcy?
Posted on 7/11/20 at 3:43 pm to AggieHank86
If im elected governor of your state i'll make sure you never leave the house. You know....because I care for your safety.
