What'd you see and learn? Would you say it was therapeutic like ayahuasca supposedly is? Been fascinated with the idea of DMT since I watched the doc on Netflix

Not to do with Ketamine, but those hardcore mushrooms I took I heard grass scream in pain as I yanked them out and then heard another scream when I bit into a hot dog. I thought I was a monster and swore off meat for good. Woke up the next day and fried up a shite ton of bacon.

I have been around the block.
I had an insatiable lust for psychedelics while I was in college. It started with 2C-I, and quickly branched out to morning glory seeds (LSA), mushrooms, LSD, etc.
From there I found the research chemical community, which led me to even more psychedelics, mescaline analogs, MXE, PCP analogs, etc and everything was going fine until one day I couldn't stop myself from placing an order for U-47700.
For those of you unfamiliar (and I'll assume for now that that encompasses everyone here) U-47700 is a potent opioid somewhere in the vicinity of ~15x more potent than heroin. Looking back idk wtf I was thinking. That shite ruined my life for all of 2016, and even today I am still suffering from the effects and working to get over it. I am not kidding anyone when I say I actually tried to use a gram of heroin for the first an only time in my life to try to get off that awful shite. Spoiler, it didn't help. I even tried car-fentanyl once to no avail.
My saving grace was found in kratom. I still use it 4x a day, every day, to this very day. It has kept me in line and able to live a productive and functioning life. I can't imagine where I would be without it, but it'd probably involve alienating my family and living (for probably a short time) under an overpass as a heroin addict, so there is that.

Or maybe you've never done shrooms. Or you've had shite shrooms. See how that works? I've picked them within 8-12 hours after a rain and the experience was otherworldly.
I will add that it's been 25 yrs since I've done either so maybe the LSD made in a lab has finally caught up and surpassed what is made in nature. But back in the 80's and 90's, mushrooms>acid.

oh ya and i took mescaline a few times back in the day
Also, in comparable dosages, i find mushrooms more intense than LSD to respond to the above discussion. LSD i sort of can control, know whats going on - shrooms get deep into my brain.
