Would You Drive This? 2020 Honda Ridgeline HFP Overlander

The Honda Ridgeline has been controversial on the OT. That's understandable, as it is an undeniably reliable non-Ford product.
More legitimate criticism has come from the fact that the Ridgeline is a unit body vehicle and can't handle the serious off roading that all truck buyers like to pretend they do. Honda's answer to that is the Ridgeline HFP.
Like all Ridgelines, it's powered by a brilliant 280 horsepower VTEC V6 with multi-phase cam lobes to boost power high in the rev range. But the HFP also includes a lift for those of you that need the extra 2 inches to satisfy your insecurities. It also includes overland hardware and electronic four wheel drive.
Would you drive this?
As you can probably tell, this is definitely a beefed up Honda Ridgeline - with overfenders and off road tires.
Despite all of this, the Ridgeline remains true to its roots as a practical vehicle that's proven reliable and safe - with plenty of space to take your closest friends camping with you.
This is the perfect truck for a lot of OT'ers that may be stuck behind the wheel of an unreliable Ford or rusted out Nissan. You may not want to admit it, but the Ridgeline is a brilliant vehicle for your lifestyle.
I remember the first time I saw a Ridgeline. I saw it pulling out of Manchac Park one evening when I was driving along Jefferson. It definitely seemed like it had an interesting profile - the HFP version just looks even more rugged. The overfenders and off road hardware really help bring the entire package together. Would you drive the Ridgeline HFP?

What's the point of a mini-van without the third row and cargo space?

No. That last picture sums it up though, if a butch lesbian were a car, it'd be that.

It is still a Ridgeline. So, nah, I'll pass.

Four wheel drive, about 2.5 tons of towing capacity, a bed to haul all of your gear, increased ground clearance, etc...

What is the ground clearance? I need to know if it supports Nutz before making a decision.

You are in denial. You want one. You just don't want other people to know about it.

About 3.50 inches more than your F-150.

Absolutely I would drive it...
If I didn’t have a Ford, Chevy, Ram, Toyota, Nissan.... or Power Wheel.
Seriously though, I know the electric 4wd gives instant power on full charge but still seems sketchy and unproven. I’m still privy to to the Big Baws when it comes to dirt, mud, and water.

All kidding aside, Honda's styling language definitely works when the vehicle sits a little higher on its suspension.

At some point recently, a bunch of manufacturers got together and decided just to design one front end. Honda, Acura, Lexus, seems like all models look the same from the front.
That said, the ridgeline looks like an accord el camino. Terrible aesthetics to me, but with some cool features. Would not drive.

I'm sure the Honda will still be running long after a Ford or Dodge of the same age kicks the bucket.

Nick Saban loves his Honda Ridgeline.

Driven one for two years. I love it. I don’t toe anything but I need the bed pretty often. I don’t think of it as a truck but an extremely versatile car.
