All alters and shills should literally kill themselves.

Some were. Some were an olive branch from North to South. Others were built later, and even more were built in the Civil Rights era.

I hold some of the monuments in much higher regard than others.

It's obviously true for man of the statues, whether or not anyone wants to admit it (which is ironic given the supposed love of history on this board.)

I don't know how to break this to you, but Reconstruction was HARD on the South. No one had the MONEY to be building statues. They were busy rebuilding their homes, their railroads and all the other infrastructure that was destroyed in the war.

The WWII memorial in DC began construction in 2001 and was completed in 2004.

LINK

Was that done for nefarious purposes as well?

Obviously true too. It's not necessarily the time it took to get around to it - it was the stated intent at that time.

A. There have been a dozen threads about this.

B. Maybe the daughters were recognizing their fathers who had either died during the war or were passing in great number. Actually no maybes about it. That is exactly what they were doing.

Just read the article. I know reading can be tough sometimes. This is purely based on facts and it’s very comprehensive.

This.

Everything built after about 1950 was an intentional finger in the eye of the Civil Rights movement. I don't have a lot of reverence for them.

Before that, folks were honoring their family members and ancestors.

Yet here the Leftistsare a century and a half later still saying today's Blacks population is hindered because of slavery.

It's the leftists trying desperately to cling to history.

So a region that was war-torn and reconstructing itself couldn’t afford to immediately build monuments and statues?

• When did we build the WW2 monument?

• When did we build the Korean War memorial?

In all three cases, monuments were constructed when veterans began to die off in great numbers. And when the memories of the wars were starting to disappear.

3 things

1. What's the point of this thread? Are you still pretending they're only after Confederate Statues?

2. Who cares why they were originally built. By definition, once they were built, they became a part of history.

3. Since you want to talk about the real motivations, cool. You can stop pretending you pieces of shite want them torn down "because racism" and just admit that it's 100% about using them as a gateway to tearing down the nation.
