A northern Illinois auto museum said it will continue displaying the iconic car from the "Dukes of Hazzard" television show with a Confederate flag painted on top of it, according to multiple reports.
quote:
“We feel the car is part of history, and people love it. We’ve got people of all races and nationalities that remember the TV show and aren’t offended by it whatsoever. It’s a piece of history, and it’s in a museum,” Brian Grams, Volo Auto Museum director, told Crystal Lake's, Northwest Herald.

They better profile customers until this thing blows over or it’ll get BLM spray painted on it.

As much as I hate to say it...predict they will bend the knee within two weeks.

Its one of the most famous cars in the world
You can't call yourself an automobile museum if you won't display it if you have the opportunity

Well it’s supposedly family owned and operated. So no state money influence and no bitch made woke corporations. So there is hope

That’s exactly the arguments for where these things should go if they’re deemed inappropriate to be displayed in public like so may are claiming. Museums. If they start removing them from museums, we’re even more fricked.
ETA: I say this in regards to literally ANYTHING. Museums should have carte Blanche to display anything. You don’t close down World War II museums because they have references to the Nazis.

The whole thing is likely to be burned down.

I support this thread, but there's one thing that's bothering me. The photo below. Do you see it?
The passenger door is open. That shite is suppose to be welded shut.

This should be hyperbole but it isn't. My wife works in the museum community and prominent places in SC have received bomb threats for their display of Confederate and slave memorabilia. These people are as bad as the Taliban or ISIS when it comes to destroying historical relics.
