Help! Neighbor’s weeds are encroaching on my Centipede. It appears to be an infestation of Japanese clover, which is choking out the centipede lawn. What should I use to kill it in the heat of the summer since most items in the big box stores say not to use above 90 degrees?

MSM is the cheapest, Celsius is the safest. What kind of grass?

Then I stand by my above post. I personally would use MSM if you are confident in putting out the proper amount. Too strong can stunt the centipede, but it will be fine. A 3 way like trimec or weed free zone would kill it, but stay away from that if it's too hot.

Gamecock is right on but buy a $10 pack of top shot if it’s a small area and you are confident in mixing

How much MSM are we talking about per gallon of water? I have the same crap in my yard and want to get rid of it. I have a 4 gal backpack sprayer.

Thanks

A minor amount. Like a pinch. A guy used to tell me to wet your pinky finger, stick it in the MSM up to your first knuckle, and whatever stuck to your finger was enough for a gallon. ( I do not condone sticking your fingers in chemicals)

For a 4 gallon sprayer, maybe like a bottle cap full or 1/10th of an oz.

Its hard to be exact with hand spraying.

This applies to lespedeza as well. Never had an issue with this application rate on my centipede lawn. I just order a. few 1/8 tsp scoops from Amazon - good to have a spare when misplacing one.
