More serious than you'd expect with Pryor.

Greased Lightning (1977)

The true life story of Wendell Scott, the first black stock car racing driver to win an upper tier NASCAR race.

49 minute ESPN documentary about Wendell Scott (on Youtube)

Good one where the drivers never get to the track, but there's lots of chase scenes, and mechanic talk.

Thunder Road (1958)

A veteran comes home from the Korean War to the mountains and takes over the family moonshining business. He has to battle big-city gangsters who are trying to take over the business and the police who are trying to put him in prison.
