The book is out. I bought it at the Wally Pontiff Jr. Foundation game last year. It is really good.

I attended his services at a packed Chapel of the North American Martyrs at Jesuit High.

Let me tell ya - a young man, that young, that touched as many people as he did, just being who he was, is something special.

Prayers for the family and friends...

That was a sad day. I had spent the past couple weeks stressing over him coming back to LSU for his senior year. I had just got off of lsusports.net when my wife called. I told her that I did not see anything, and she hit me with the news. She worked with friends of the family, so she heard before the radio stations and websites had anything. It was hard to believe.

It's one of those things where you'll always remember where you were and what you were doing when you heard the news. Very sad. Everyone please keep the family in your thoughts today and say a few prayers for them as well.

A short side note:

I have a disabled 10 year old son (who LOVES LSU). I took him to see this years team in the SEC tourney and he has really been inspired by this team. When things get tough for him, I remind him of how both the Football and Baseball teams for LSU never quit and it gives him the motivation to continue. I passed this information along to the Pontiffs and thanked the team for their inspiration in an email.

Connie took the time out of her busy schedule to send my son a Wally shirt for his birthday. He was so excited when he got it and wears it proudly here in Bamaland. That family is awesome! They are routinely in my thoughts and prayers!
