People already lining up for Trump’s weekend rally in Oklahoma
By Morgan Phillips
June 18, 2020

More than two days before the president is set to take the stage in Oklahoma for his first rally since the coronavirus lockdowns, ardent Trump supporters are already lining up to camp outside the venue.

President Trump on Saturday night is scheduled to rally with supporters at BOK Center, a venue in Tulsa which can hold around 20,000 people.

“So you are prepared to sit out here for five-six days?” a local reporter with KFOR asked a group holding up a Trump 2020 flag this week. “We’re here till after the rally,” one woman assured the reporter. “I came here Sunday at 9 a.m.,” another man added.

I'd be tempted to do the same. Conservatives are a lonely bunch right now. Afraid to speak out in the workplace, social media, or anywhere else in order to avoid being "cancelled" and having their lives seriously impacted. Being in a gathering of thousands of like-minded individuals that feel the same way? I bet they're pumped.

What Joe Biden’s Event Was Like
-------------------------------------------------
As one candidate plays to a nearly empty room, another prepares for a rally with health risks.

By Lisa Lerer
June 17, 2020

DARBY, Pa. — In 2020, presidential campaigning is either chaos or quiet.

Over the course of my career covering politics, I have attended hundreds of presidential campaign events.

I’ve never been to one anything like Joe Biden’s economic address in the Philadelphia suburbs today.

There was no soundtrack of carefully selected, inoffensive pop music blasting in the background. No reporters fighting over power outlets and positioning. No rope line for the candidate to walk, shaking hands and snapping selfies.

Oh, and hardly any voters.

About 20 handpicked local officials, small-business owners and reporters sat in folding chairs, each placed within a large white circle taped on the floor of a recreation center to maintain — or at least encourage — social distancing. A few attendees whispered to each other as photographers quietly chatted. You could hear the clack of typing echoing across the room. The silence was striking.

But, but, but, but ... POLLS have Biden leading by a landslide!

Dumb move to have it inside. Why not fill up a 30,000 to 50,000 outdoor arena... or more? How about a 100,000 stadium with a little Special Distancing. The media wouldn't know how to handle that.

He needs to win over voters in the "middle" to win the election. The Always Trumpers (tm) will show up to vote.
