I grew up in South Louisiana but I'm not Cajun. My ancestry is mostly Scandinavian and British. Who owes me free stuff?

I believe Edwin Edwards tried to push for this, and it failed due to the fact Cajuns were mostly white.

I have friend up here that's from Nova Scotia and I told him my wife was from South Louisiana and he went on a full on apology spree. Mentioned that they learn about the Acadian Explusion as in-depth as we do about the trail of tears.
I bet if you petition the Nova Scotian government they might actually kick you a bucks. Start Acadian Lives Matter and all that crap.

The French Indians (Houma) were also discriminated against horribly and were blocked from receiving any education. Most of them that still live in what’s left of the Isle de Jean Charles area still have very little education and thus live in severe poverty. Some had their lands basically stolen out from under them.
Where were all the woke white protesters and riots when the Bureau of Indian Affairs denied their application for tribal status?

when my grandpa started school, they told him to go home and don't come back until he learned english, so he never went back, joined the army when he turned 18 and fought in WW2, came back and worked for 35 years for Shell, and put 4 kids through private school. We would give him cards for his birthday and he could barely read them, but he could fix anything, and he'd help anyone that asked.

The story of the Acadians always reminded me of white people today

Andouille is from the Brittany region of France. You would not recognize it as andouille and would likely throw it in the trash, as it's a sausage made of intestines. Guts stuffed in guts. It existed in Louisiana alongside what most people would think of as andouille, but it is exceedingly rare these days. My grandmother used to make sausage with an old German man and she'd make the French style of andouille, but he'd smoke it in the German way so it wasn't quite as vile as what you'd find in France.
Familiar andouille as we know it in South Louisiana is nothing like it is in France and its current form is HEAVILY influenced by German sausage making traditions. There's a reason the best andouille (South Louisiana, not France) and Cajun sausage, in general, tends to come from around the river and lakes down towards Des Allemands and from places on the prairie where there were shittons of Germans that settled alongside the Acadians.
You gotta remember that Cajun is not equal to Acadians. You need all the cultures that settled in South Louisiana to get Cajuns. Acadians, Spanish, French, Germans, African, Natives. The heaviest influence may have come from the successive waves of outcasts from Nova Scotia, but you have to mix all of those cultures together to get a Cajun.

There’s two variants, one is German and the other French. Ours is mostly German, as the French variant has tripe and such, but since it comes mostly from an area known for Germans and French that intermarried over the years it’s kind of all the same at this point. All I know for certain though is you simply cant have a legit gumbo without really good andouille

My grandmother was banned from school till she learned English. The non French made fun of the Cajuns and disrespected them. We lost our heritage due to oppression from the English. There is a reason the language died.
You think that there were Brits and Yankees down here in the 30’s and 40’s keeping Cajun kids out of the schools? It was the Cajun educators who correctly knew that growing up without a firm grasp of English would doom the Cajun people to second-class citizenship. My parents grew up speaking both languages but knew exactly why they were whipped as children for trying to get by with French.

Force every single to have Cajun French. Since we are already paying for kids to go to public schools
