Read the OP. I assume you’re agreeing with this statement

The discovery in that case would be horrible for LSU. A defense of libel is "truth," so they would have a right to go digging for truth, including WW's emails and voicemails. Better to just make DV sound crazy in the media.

Yeah Depositions in this case would be brutal and just give Dickie V attention. We need sports back

No but Woodward could setup something with a talk show and blast his arse. Tweeting also seems the new standard . Believe it or not Dicks comments are actually stopping a BB recruit from committing now. This time is giving Kentucky some 3xtra time to convince kid that LSU isn’t right for him, John C will use all the negative recruiting comments to his advantage. And

Based off of what? You are assuming something with absolutely zero information suggesting I agree with the OP. You are worse than fricking Dick Vitale. At least he is going off of SOMETHING. And you wonder why so many people call your arse out.

He might want to save the money in case Alleva comes calling should Wade get hammered
And Alleva would be suing for what? Breach of contract?
Someone as astute as you pretend to be about contract law and the reading of contracts, surely you would understand that Alleva would have no case as LSU continued to pay him the remainder of his salary under his contract and then simply did not renew it. LSU was under no obligation to have to renew the contract nor is LSU under any obligation to keep his job title or duties the same. LSU's only obligation is to provide the financial compensation promised under the contract, which they did.

damages may be tough to prove.
Damages would be nearly impossible to prove.
One, you'd have to have Cisse testify on the record that he would have signed with LSU if not for Vitale's tweet; and/or prove that any future prospects were adversely affected.
Two, even if you got the first part, you would still have to quantify the damages and show prospectively what financial loss LSU would sustain by not having Cisse on the team. This would be the hardest part unless there have been some credible economic impact studies done on the star rankings of recruits. Even then you can't account for the possibility of injury or other factors that would also play on financial impacts.
For those 2 reasons alone, LSU would most unlikely be able to prove damages.

Word on the street is Daddy Dale is feeding Ima inside info on Will Wade.

Alleva’s contract wasn’t breached, he was paid out I believe thru this month.
What went on behind closed doors & in what regard is he now held by his peers, and will it in any way affect his future job prospects?

While I haven't heard that specific rumor, it was alluded to last week on Off The Bench that the relationship b/w Dale and Wade/program had become strained over the past year. I'm curious what happened? I know Dale was attending games like normal during Wade's first couple of seasons and Wade always seemed to speak well of Dale in public.
But I could very easily see a situation where Dale was trying to exert some influence or share an opinion on things that Wade ignored. And I don't blame Wade for that at all. Wade has shown this is now his program and that he can win. Dale is way past his time and while he should be respected for what he did for LSU, he should not expect to have every coach or AD listen and adhere to his opinions until he is beneath the ground.

Why sue Vitale? If you want to sue for damages, maybe you should sue HBO. Oh, I forgot....the wiretap recording that has "damaged" LSU to the point of creating this ridiculous thread is actually WW incriminating himself/LSU.

Let’s sue Irish for having a fat wife and kids that go to the resource room

Dale Brown is a senile old goofball. He is actually worse than that if you read Norm Sloan's book. Dale can't remember his own name and spends his time making up stuff to glorify himself. Don't kid yourself, Dale does not attend LSU BB games to support LSU/WW/student-athletes, he attends so he can engage in self-aggrandizement.

Let's sue Elleshoe for having a fat boyfriend and kids who will star in the next season of "I am Jazz."

Irish used to get on the OT complaining about his wife not sleeping with him and he has the gumption to come here and hurl insults at people. I’m sick of this loser. Ban him

First off, FUK you! I'll talk as much as I like as this is an open forum discussion board.
Second, don't be insulted by the fact that your brainless self does not understand the law and would never even sniff the inside of a law school, let alone pass a bar exam.
Third, if you'd actually read the post and what it is responding to, then you'd notice that I'm not arguing for the lawsuit, which is I'm sure what you are pissed about. Well, that and the fact that you are continually schooled in many of these threads and have to resort to childish retorts.
And fourth, you continuously up voting your own posts is just sad.
