This is exactly why the state invented God...as have all states throughout the history of man...to dictate to man how he would live. The king knew he needed a higher power for the subject to answer to and therefore created that higher power....and we still pretend it exists.
This statement is what some refer to as prejudicial conjecture.

I don't. Freedom is great, but with freedom comes responsibility.

I'm saying that what is right is determined by God's unchanging morally perfect character and that our choices to live contrary to that standard has consequences.

Logic is not the reason you believe, and it wont be the reason you stop. No thanks.

Bull shite. What was this country up to when it was "with god"? Slavery? Jim Crow? GTFO

The US started off as a 100% religious country and when it was highly religious we were owning people and denying the rights of others. We are now around 65% of the population follows some form of religion.

As we have become less religious as a country we have given more people rights and fought for more equality among our citizens.

Something doesn't really add up that being more religious means we are morally better.

I believe because God has regenerated me and opened my eyes and ears.

That said, logic and reason only make sense within a Christian/Biblical worldview. I can't reason you to faith but I can show how your faith (or lack thereof) is unreasonable.

Hang in there, brother. Our perspectives may differ (I'm Catholic), but I have the utmost respect for you and always read your theological posts whenever I come across them.

This is just so obviously true. The people who make these "good ol days" arguments never seem to be anything other than white men.

Many seem to laugh when you say that the events in this country are because we have moved away from God. If they are honest, they will see that for all the great strides we have made with technology, without a Godly based morality, the society collapses.

That's actually a spiritual awakening to the truth.

Logic and reason exist in reality because they reflect the very mind of God. If you reject God, you reject the very foundation for reason.

We're agreeing, dude. You're just using different words because they make you feel better.

Estonia is the least religious country in the world. Has their society collapsed?

Many great thinkers throughout history have arrived at the same conclusion.
