Who at ESPN decided it was necessary to start telling us every athletes personal business?

I need to know every player's salary? If he is getting along with the ownership? Who his sports agent is? To what degree they have a salary/contract worked out? Who they voted for, what their stance is on this that and the other
Why couldnt they freaking keep it to sports?
Because too many people watch sports, for them not to sell us out to some agenda.
I hate this frickin world right now

Take it easy, bud.
Watch some old TV.
Don’t let the SJW TPOS get to you.

Honestly. It’s because they got too big. They had to keep reporting. The 24 hour News cycle continued to grow and grow, and advertisers were selling ads later into the evening. One personal interest story here and there just kept going. Today they can make entire cycles out of semi-sports related bullshite that could have never found a niche 20 years ago.
This coupled with social media is going to threaten sports/watching sports for some time.
The NFL is doing what it has to do right now. Will they be able to turn the tide by the time the season kicks off? Only one way to find out.

It hasn't really found a niche now either.
Live college football and pro sports fund everything else on ESPN.
There is little to no audience for much else.

ESPN's finances are in shambles. A once in a lifetime documentary isn't going to change that in the short much less long term.
To put this in perspective, the average episode of The Last Dance got about 5-6 million viewers.
An average prime time Saturday college football game draws about 8 million.

I haven't watched ESPN in a while since there are no sports, but I swear I get 100 notifications a day of them telling me what the next athlete thinks of Drew Brees or George Floyd.

Because we live in a culture that’s obsessed with money/fame. If we can’t have it, the next best thing is to watch it.

Haven’t tuned to that station once since mid March.
