And Brennan has not had one problem with what I surmise is a scholarship paid to him by mostly white alumni and supporters. Oh the irony huh?

Has any career offered a greater proportion of black men (often from disadvantaged backgrounds) the chance to dramatically improve their/their family’s SES and accumulate generational wealth the way that pro sports have?

It’s very hard to square that with the idea of overwhelming systemic oppression, frankly. But if he wants to bite the hand that feeds him, so to speak, I guess that’s his right.

excellent, now he will go back to be a hood rat instead of doing well and getting drafted and becoming a millionaire, all so he can virtue signal his racism over a false narrative

more hood rats just doing dumb hood rat stuff

His fellow players are supporting him, with “I stand with you” comments.
Will be very interesting to see if peer pressure kicks in.

Never heard of him before today and if he quits playing football, thereby forfeiting his scholarship, I doubt we will evwr hear about him again.

They have, it’s just asinine proposals such a as defunding police departments and 14 trillion in reparations.

Kaepernick did. He may be the only one, but Nike was there to bail him out.

Sure he can choose not to play. UT can also pull his scholarship. This guy can then take out student loans to finish his education like everyone else or he can drop out and become a statistic that he fighting against.

Or he can continue to play, go to class, get his education, go to the NFL potentially make more money than he will know what do with and use it towards causes to improve his communities he is “standing up for”. That is how he should be thinking about. He should be even more motivated to succeed personally so he can be a positive pillar in his community to uplift it. Instead he is will to throw all that away just to send an empty message. Dumb as frick.

I would seriously like to ask this young scholar a question:

What would your life be like if your ancestors had not been sold into slavery (by other black people) and forcibly relocated to America?

Can you imagine what this is doing to teams and locker rooms?

No he did not. He wasn't going to play anyway AND used the opportunity in order to remain relevant...

Hopefully he doesn’t take another snap. Hopefully he becomes toxic to the NFL

Doubtful.

This is incorrect. CFB would just end.

Perfect

What the cop did was reprehensible, and he deserves to be prosecuted, but is there proof he did what he did out of racism?

It’s amazing that I am told I am committing violence and racist because I am not marching with BLM.
