“I will never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America or our country. Let me just tell what I see or what I feel when the national anthem is played and when I look at the flag of the United States. I envision my two grandfathers, who fought for this country during World War II, one in the Army and one in the Marine Corp. Both risking their lives to protect our country and to try to make our country and this world a better place. So every time I stand with my hand over my heart looking at that flag and singing the national anthem, that’s what I think about. And in many cases, that brings me to tears, thinking about all that has been sacrificed. Not just those in the military, but for that matter, those throughout the civil rights movements of the ‘60s, and all that has been endured by so many people up until this point. And is everything right with our country right now? No, it is not. We still have a long way to go. But I think what you do by standing there and showing respect to the flag with your hand over your heart, is it shows unity. It shows that we are all in this together, we can all do better and that we are all part of the solution.”

I realize this is the first time many of you have seen the quotation in its entirety, but if you can find any mention in there of “condemnation” then it’s very clearly your intention to manipulate context and perpetuate falsehoods solely to discredit this man.

I’m very close to being over sports all together. I was very excited about this season but the joy is being taken little by little. It’s fun to watch but it’s been way overvalued.

He sees players kneeling during the anthem as disrespect to the flag. He misses their point entirely and dismisses the entire reason they are kneeling. It is in protest. So how you stand in "unity" with your teammates but also say "hey, don't do that?"

Link?
Because here's the FBI data from 2016
That link tells me that 60% of the population committed 60% of the violent crimes. 12% of the population committed 37% of the violent crimes.
One of those is clearly worse than the other, but then again I understand percentages.

Man...this is tiring. Where the rest of the human race sees the word “don’t agree”, you seem to see the words “dismissive” and “hey, don’t do that”.
He didn’t say “I will disown a teammate and ruin him” if a player kneels. He said he doesn’t interpret the importance of the flag in the same way. And he is allowed to have that viewpoint and express it freely.
You are trying so hard to manipulate his words and ascribe opinions to him that simply aren’t true. And it is thought processes like that that only serve to heighten division and tension, not relieve it.
And you still simply refuse to read. But since it’s 2020 and all you people understand in terms of actionable change is social media posturing, here you go:

On Tuesday, a Blackout Tuesday hashtag circulated encouraging people to take a break from social media to reflect on racism. A number of athletes, celebrities, companies and sports teams took part in the movement, including Brees.

Whenever total deaths by cops are brought he wants to look at per capita. Now since total violent crimes fits his view, he’s going with that instead of per capita

That’s called switching. Per capita yes, blacks are more likely to be killed by cops. But also per capita, they’re far more likely to commit crime.
But also they’re FAR, FAR more likely to be killed by another black man than they are a cop. Given how many millions of interactions take place every year between cops and black men, around 200-300 are killed. Most of them were armed. That represents not even 0.0001% that of interactions that result in a death of black man. It’s certainly not even close to conclude that there is a prevalence of cops killing unarmed black men. Now I’m not saying cops don’t have tons of issues.

So who exactly are these racist players dummy ?

Man we are taking this too far. He spoke on some things he didn't understand. His teammates let him see why his statement hurts. He understood. He apologized. They forgave. They are one. Why can't we do the same on here?

Another stupid arse who just don't understand. You need therapy. It's not about Brees and the flag, it's about Brees not understanding why those players were kneeling for those who have been through Police Brutality and police state abuse were systemic and institutionalized can’t possibly still have any such doubts now, after watching egregious police violence over the last 10 days

If I've learned one thing over the past week, it's that people don't understand what fascism means.
I've also learned that people get mad at others and then do the exact thing to them that they got mad about. Like jumping on people for their opinions and saying they should be gotten rid of.

Can you imagine the nationwide support an nfl team would get
if the fired 85% of their team and replaced them only with playérs that respect our flag.
Lots would hate but lose 30% of your fans but gain 15% from every state in he union.
