Handgun question/advice for —> this woman <—

So I’m a petite woman.
I’m by no means weak, but my hands are crazy small, which causes me a host of problems when trying to slide/rack a semi-automatic handgun.
I’ve had a Ruger revolver for years that I carry in my purse on the reg (and love); but I always considered it to be what it is: a single shot firearm to use on the highway, on the ranch, etc.
This urban violence we’re seeing is a completely different story and tells me I need to purchase a semi-automatic pistol.
Do any of you have any thoughts/recommendations?
I’m not looking to break the bank; but mid-lower/upper price range is fine.

Glock 19 + Mossberg
For smaller hands, maybe a Walther?

My 12-year old daughter has no issue shooting my Ruger SR9.
ETA: That I lost in a boating accident last year.

Go shoot a Glock and an M&P in 9mm. Buy whichever one feels better and you’re accurate with.

But really, if a mob of violent people were to come knocking, the very best thing you could have is an AR15. You might think it's intimidating, but it's MUCH easier to handle than a pistol. Less recoil, easier to aim, greater capacity, 10x as lethal, etc etc.

Unfortunate.

You’ll get lots of opinions so here is mine.
If you have trouble racking the slide the clearing jams will also be problematic. And if you aren’t training to clear as part of your practice then a semi can be worse.
Additionally some shooters with small hands and looser grip can actually cause failure to feed jams.
I would rather see you stay with a revolver and have a system that works every time you pull the bang switch.
I know it might seem crazy but people who practice with moon clips can reload a revolver surprisingly quick.

or rickshaw accidents?

Glock 43 or a Springfield xds. Both are great single stack designs so the frame is thin, great for concealing and small hands.

Bursa Thunder is a decent choice. It's basically the same as a Walther, but a lot cheaper. Fires really well, accurate. It's a .380 and the ammo is more expensive than a 9mm tbough.
Another alternative that I would look at is the Sig P365. It's a 9mm, is small but carries more ammo than the similar sized pistols.
Both nice pistols.

Huge issue for me.
Happens more times that not.

You sound like my Daddy.
Thanks for your perspective.

Smith and Wesson has some semi-automatics that are made with easier to rack slides. Not sure about the grip size. Check out an M&P EZ.

You need a S&W M&P EZ in 9mm. They're essentially made specifically for people like you

Walther CCP is one of the easiest slides to rack. It's a subcompact, though which may not be good for a first gun for a lady

Personally I'm a fan of the sig p365. Even with crazy small hands you shouldn't have any issues pulling back the slide.
