Kinda excited!

Why? It is a shitty grocery store chain with off brand products and a horrible selection.

Good for running in and getting quick things you need.

Yes, good for basics. Excellent prices and quality on basics like milk, bread, eggs, etc. We have a couple nice locations here. I wouldn't go there for everything but it serves its role.

I went to the Aldi in Va Beach weekly to get veggies, eggs, almond milk, random stuff like that. Sometimes big packs of chicken breasts or thighs. It's not your weekly stock up grocery store. People are going to flood that place and be really disappointed. They have good deals but only get shipments in once or twice a week.

Exactly. It will not replace Costco or Trader Joe's but it has and serves a niche.

I’m not an Aldi fan personally, but as someone who works for a major national brand, I can tell you that Aldi’s private labels are made by the national brands.

I like the trader Joe's level produce. I also eat weird organic things that they usually have. Cheap wine is also a bonus.

It's the one place here that always had toilet paper during the great TP Run of 2020...

I went to one as a broke college student in Germany. I remember groceries being pretty cheap there

The $.25 cart usage thing is going to be interesting in that location.

No it will not...you have obviously never used it.

ALDI, is not a COMPLETE store. You will get used to buying there what they have and then completing your purchases elsewhere. But no frills, good value on what they have.
It makes sense for them to go into a "not prime rent" area.
They also have very good WEEKLY offers on non food items.

Just what that area needs

Area is going to shite fast. Should do well though with all the Section 8 housing nearby.

Well if the Section 8 dwellers have access to fresh fruits and vegetables from Aldi you know it will only be a matter of time before they pull themselves out of their cycle of poverty and crime.
