Lost a Great Tiger Fan Yesterday

Yesterday I lost the most important person in my life, my father passed away at home. He had just come out of the hospital from five days for breathing and kidney issues. Perfectly functional guy, five days later he couldn’t even walk or barely talk.
He was the biggest tiger fan I knew and brought me to games starting when I was five years old with my grandparents. I’ll never forget the drives to Baton Rouge, eating at Mike Anderson’s, picking pecans on campus. He was so proud of what his tiger’s achieved last year and I am so thankful he got to witness it.
Not to end this politically but the shutdown has real consequences... he didn’t have to die this way. If there would have been real health care services provided, he would not have been left all alone to just fall apart. Do whatever you can to make sure no one in your family goes into a hospital, it is like a third world country right now.
Love you dad!

I think many of us who enjoy sports can trace that Love back to our fathers. There is a unique connection between Dads, sons and sports (and in this case, LSU sports). So sorry to hear of you Dad‘a passing, but so thankful that you (like many others on this site), will always have the comforting memories of sharing Saturday’s in Tiger Stadium with your Dad. All the best to you and your family.

Prayers for you.
A simple reminder to everyone else to cherish the time they have with their parents.

Sorry for your loss. Your father was a good man and dad. No doubt they listed his passing as COVID so they could get fed funds. What hospital was he in? I was in St. Tammany a month ago for three days. I was very nervous. Again sorry for your loss. Go Tigers.

He was in East Jefferson. Day he went in, he was at the lake front eating ice cream with my step mom. Five days later, there was nothing left. The health care system is criminal right now. He did not have COVID, they tested him twice, both negative.

So sorry for your loss. Such a horrible circumstance, I’d be furious too. Hang in there, brother.

Sorry about losing your dad. Prayers for him. Many years ago, my dad went into the hospital feeling slightly light headed, and was dead 72 hours later from medical incompetence from his doctor and the Baton Rouge General staff.

May your father rest in peace. Thank you for posting this. Brought back memories of travelling to football games with my father many years ago.

May you father rest in peace. It's awesome he got to see what the tigers accomplished last season and even better that you got to experience it with him.

Prayers and support sent. My dad is 76 and I dread receiving that call from my mom.
